Where you coach has absolutely zero to do with how you go about rebuilding a team.
You have the same tools anywhere you coach!
High school recruits and portal transfer’s .
Any coach that doesn’t use every available avenue is an idiot.[/QUOTE
You are delusional if you believe winning in the SEC and winning in the Big 10 is comparable.
Yeah, OK.
...and you can argue that bad loss wasn't a bad loss at the time (if you're speaking of Florida who was top 10 and had just barely lost to Alabama the week before)We beat who we were supposed to beat in our HC's first season by a sh*t ton of points. We lost 2 toss ups by one score each. We had one bad loss. All in our coaches first year.
I disagree. A team like UT can rebuild quickly for depth and talent. It depends who we get. Hooker is the perfect example. What would we have done this year without him?Anyone expecting to build (rebuild) a program through the transfer portal is going to be sorely disappointed.
With Milton or Bailey. I doubt it.
Yes I believe we are a 4 or 5 win team with Milton if we were lucky.W/Milton we were within a touchdown of #17 Pitt & beat Bowling Green 38-6. That was also in the first two games when the players were still learning the scheme and the coaches were learning the players. Which win beside Kentucky do you doubt we'd have won w/Milton at QB?
TN Tech (56-0)?
Missouri (62-24)?
South Carolina (45-20)?
South Alabama (60-14)?
Vanderbilt (45-21)?
Hooker was clearly the best QB we had this year, but Milton is a 4th year QB that has played in 21 games, starting in many of them. He has a lifetime completion rate of 55.4% and a passing efficiency rating of 122.5. To think we were a 25 point difference vs. South Carolina or 38 points vs. Missouri, who we rushed for nearly 500 yards against, strikes me as a bit silly. Are you quite sure you know what you're talking about?

Ummmm…. The only reason we didn’t beat Pitt by 21 is because of Milton. He missed at least three touchdowns in the first half before injury from overthrowing. If Hooker had started that game, we would have won. BG sucks and we should have dropped sixty on them. Milton is who he is and I doubt he ever truly contributes here barring some injuries.W/Milton we were within a touchdown of #17 Pitt & beat Bowling Green 38-6. Using the Milton example from the first two games as reference , we may have lost to Mizzou and S.C. The first and foremost point in my original post was that teams can rebuild the the transfer portal to fill the gaps needed to be competitive. If you want to debate that point I’ll continue the discussion. I will not continue to debate a hypothetical situation of what our record would be with Milton at Qb for the whole year since neither one of us can prove our opinions.Wow, 4 or 5 if we’re lucky! So could’ve been even more huh?
So again, which of those games do you think we’d have lost w/Milton? Let’s say we were lucky and it wasn’t worse and I’ll give you Kentucky. What are the other two?

Because you totally believe what you said rand not doubling down on something stupid.
