Probably because Russell reportedly wants a massive NIL deal. And he isn't nearly as good as you are making him out to be.

And if you take him, Lewis likely looks elsewhere. Then Russell holds you hostage for more money next season or leaves.

There are reasons this staff isn’t trying to land him. And those reasons have to do with the program being better off without him.

lol. They’ll be right back in the same spot. And probably hurting to pay some of the guys they flipped. Shaedy made a bad decision.

I just don’t see the hype with Russell tbh

Take the Miss St game away and he’s done literally nothing. Congrats on getting 100+ against a middle school team…

I know that Carp are wise fish, but, perhaps you've inhaled one too many cig butts?

You should know well that we OG's of RF possess Crown of England dominion over Tennessee athletics. That is to say, we do not harr and farr directly, or do any work for that matter. However any and all, or no actual decisions are run through us. Despite none of us having any real football experience.

Truthfully, this a free RF message board. We share opinions. I do think recruiting could be better, and I do think Russell is that good.

Maybe that's the rub then, he doesn't want to get hurt, feels entitled to better contract, only plays hard when cameras are on. Sounds like a Deion.

Either way, kid is just a fresh. And looked a helluva lot like Darren McFadden against us.

So yeah, I still have flashbacks to those days.

8 rushes for 62 yards, one of which was a 24 yard rush near the end of the game isn't quite McFadden numbers.

said he looked like McFadden, physically while running. Again, he is a freshman.

6'1" 253 lb back, with speed. We've missed that in our backfield, imo. Obviously staff thought so too, when he chose Arkansas over us last year.

Those 60 some yards were pretty big, if memory serves. Specifically that 20 yard gash. That was a very NFL esque, business like gameplan executed against us.

Russell averaged nearly 8 yards a touch. Nearly 45 minutes to our 33.

Arkansas's gameplan that day on defense was very well executed. The argument could be made it wasnt what they did, its what we didnt do. Sampson had 138 yards, but we couldnt capitalize in red zone.

That's not to discredit Dylan. Imagine having to defend Sampson, then thumper comes in. Id argue we win that game, assuming all other crap happens same.

Arkansas did to us, as we have to other teams. Kept us guessing run or pass, and boom hit over middle. Georgia had the horses to nearly perfect it. Almost west coast style.

All those words are to say, I think Russell will be a hoss.

That said, agree he isnt worth $1Mill.

Russell's a good running back, but he's not a $1 million running back, so few are. He had good stats behind a really solid, veteran OL.

Against SEC competition (and the vast majority of this for Russell is against a meh Miss State team), Bishop and Russell have pretty much identical numbers for PFF rushing grade and yards-after-contact.

If I was coach, Russell would only play during short yardage situations and on the GL.

Kid is starting to get into overrated territory with all the hype talk from our fan base. It’s like we’ve never seen a big RB before
