'25 Portal Thread

What part of "that would be illegal" did you not understand?

For our economy to continue to thrive, we will have to cap the pay in your industry at $2 above current minimum wage for the next 25 years. See how that is illegal? Because you are suggesting it would be "smart" to do the same and trample other people's rights

The NIL and portal are directly the reason why we finally have parity in college football. UGA, Bama, and OSU can no longer hoard 5 stars for 3-4 years.

Cam Seldon has -going back from his junior year in HS- has never been available the entirety of the year.

Look at his stats in MaxPreps if you don't believe me

This 6'2 220 lb kid that ran 4.4, had 900 total yards as a senior in 1A Virginia.
Lewis had 2,000 rush yards alone in 4A Virginia.

People jumped all over me when I said Cam Seldon will NOT practice in Knoxville come Spring 2025. I didn't mean transfer necessarily. I meant he would find some reason to NOT BE AVAILABLE. That's his history! 4 years of injuries?????? How many excuses are you going to keep making for him?
PERHAPS HE SHOULDN'T PLAY FOOTBALL?

People are sad because he's 6'2 220 4.3 speed.
I couldn't care less about any of that. Because it damn sure hasn't helped Tennessee at all. Yet here we are IN THE PLAYOFFS.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Looking at this shifty running back from Texas State - very specific skill set running and catching to complement the bruisers we got in Bishop and Lewis. Our coaches are so deliberate and tactical with the portal needs, I’m telling you. It’s all about fit, culture and needs. Not just overpaying for drama queens or locker room issues.

Someone needs to ask the 247 staff if they have mental issues.

Wendell Moe is ranked as the 11th best OL and a 3 star only giving up 1 sack in his career while they have some random Johntay Cook with 200 yards as a top 30 prospect

Chill.

Well said my friend
You need to go back and read every post @LittleVol has written about Cam. It’s all unnecessary bashing, and he was proud he was right about Bishop, and he’s proud now that he was right about Seldon. It’s his childish “I told you so” attitude. Everything he’s said is only serving to make himself feel good about being right

Unless someone leaves for money or I’m missing someone after next season, we may not even need to look at portal guys, at least on offense.

All WRs other than Squirrel will be back and we will be bringing in King, hopefully Keys, etc.

Have Davis, Brame, and Jack.

Bishop, Lewis, Baker and Morris all will be couple years older.

Heard could come back for his SR year. By that time we should have a LG established since Karic will be gone already.

Satterwhite will have already started at Center.

Moe could also come back for a SR season.

Finally, we have a young core at RT.

Heupel getting this roster to the reloading stage, which is crazy considering the hand he was dealt. After going into the past few portals with serious needs, I feel like we only really need to pull a IOL (check) and a DL or two. Looks even better next year.

In a perfect world for the 2026 season

QB: Nico (RS Jr) (he won’t be back)
RB: Bishop (RS Jr) / Lewis (Jr)
WR: Matthews (Jr) / Brazzell (Sr) / Staley (RS Soph)
TE: Davis (Jr) / Brame (Soph) / Jack (Soph)
OL:
LT: Heard (Sr)
LG: Anderson or Ginther (RS Soph)
C: Satterwhite (RS Soph)
RG: Moe (Sr)
RT: Sanders (RS Fr) or Perry (RS Soph)

Just depending on how LG and RT develop over the next year we may not need transfers for offense. Kind of crazy

Im hopeful Bennett Warren will be in that mix somewhere as well

It would be smart. These funds are gonna run dry too quick and we’ll lose the parity we see in the sport currently. If we want the sport to continue to thrive, there will have to be a cap
1. Two transfers, that's it.
2. Close bargaining holes. In what other world does one sided bargaining happen?
3. The market will likely self regulate, if entities just say 'no.' Then what? You're going to transfer? Ok. You get two.
4. The porthole window is a pre-spring practice, and fall practice deal.

Simple. Now, onto CFP playoff committee.

Eliminate the “committee”. Rework autobids etc. I think SOS needs to be more of a factor.

1. illegal
2. What does that even mean? if they aren't a union that can collectively bargain, then there is no hole to close. one sided bargaining happens when one side has the power and law behind them, which is the athletes.
3. Just say no, then you have a bad football team. Such an illegal practice could be considered collusion between universities and you have a much bigger federal mess
4. illegal

You really have no issue with potentially violating others rights. I highly doubt you'd feel the same if it was pointed at you

I don't understand why any top WRs would choose UGA when they have proven they don't utilize them that well. Pickens is likely a top 15 pick if he went to Bama, LSU, or OSU. I mean if UGA is offering the fattest bag, that is one thing. But you don't go to UGA as a WR if you want to get drafted in 1st round of the NFL draft.
Throw to the TE more than WR
