They pay their DB coach almost as much as we pay our DC, and every position group is paid more than ours outside of receiver. Also a report came out a year or two ago that showed the recruiting budgets of each school and theirs was almost twice as high as the second closest SEC school and nearly 5x as high as ours. This is also the first time Georgia has finished outside the top 3 in recruiting since Kirby has been there I’m pretty sure. Georgia signed 11 top 150 players to our 5 and 7 of those are in the top 50 compared to our 2 and this is their worst class in years and our bestGeorgia's 2025 recruiting class per On3: 93.068 points
Tennessee's 2025 recrutiing class: 91.702 points.
Fewer than 2 points separate the two classes but they are serious about winning championships and I guess we're just dicking around.
In light of the 2 decades of despair pre-CJH, can I at least suffer through a decade of 9+ win seasons before you guys run off our coach with your Ricky Bobby mentality and have us wondering in the desert again? TIABut will we win championships? If not, then Heupel is just our Mark Richt. Winning titles is and always should be the goal. And Heupel has the hunger. His goal is to win titles.
Nope. We took a vote, and you lost.In light of the 2 decades of despair pre-CJH, can I at least suffer through a decade of 9+ win seasons before you guys run off our coach with your Ricky Bobby mentality and have us wondering in the desert again? TIA
That’s why that Farooq kid is a perfect target. Why look for a depth piece at WR? No offense to Brazzell or Squirrel, but we need to go get a starter that can go make plays consistently to pair with Matthews. Squirrel is what he is at this point and Brazzell may take off in year 2. We have room to take a day 1 starter, and is with the investment.
Why not go get a stud WR and let it all work out? Let these guys compete. I like Squirrel but why is everyone just scared to bring someone in who might be better? I don’t get it.Why look for a depth piece at WR? No offense to Brazzell or Squirrel, but we need to go get a starter that can go make plays consistently to pair with Matthews. Stud WRs don't go to teams already stacked with stud WRs. They are transferring to play larger roles. That's why a guy like Farooq would be ideal. He'd come in and slot behind the guys we have and provide experienced depth. We only need one guy and that's the role we need him to be willing to play. Why not go get a stud WR and let it all work out? Let these guys compete. Could definitely see his home state of Maryland involved with him.Stud WRs don't go to teams already stacked with stud WRs. They are transferring to play larger roles. He could be good enough to be starter (pre injury), but he may be fine with being a 4th or 5th option due to being injured all season last year, or for most of it.
A lot of teams aren’t going to guarantee him a starting spot due to that injury.
It’s a perfect risk. If it works, it’s awesome, if it doesn’t, develop the freshman and sit him.
