1. illegal
2. What does that even mean? if they aren't a union that can collectively bargain, then there is no hole to close. one sided bargaining happens when one side has the power and law behind them, which is the athletes.
3. Just say no, then you have a bad football team. Such an illegal practice could be considered collusion between universities and you have a much bigger federal mess
4. illegal

You really have no issue with potentially violating others rights. I highly doubt you'd feel the same if it was pointed at you
@Jackcrevol , the issue is, the courts have ruled in favor of the athletes, overwhelmingly. Until such time as a unionize workforce for collegiate athletes who can collectively bargain, anything close to a restriction is going to be deemed illegal in a court of law.

Eliminate the “committee”. Rework autobids etc. I think SOS needs to be more of a factor.
Ive said it 1,000 times. As a fan, it is just that easy. The computer got it right. Period.

It would make sense to eliminate CFP at X or Y schools, but, that could take away from a really really positive revenue source, and huge boost for CFB.

You have to have SOS. Writers, Coaches, Sagarin, all got it right. Cant have it just left up to throwing grass in air to see where she lands.

Unless someone leaves for money or I’m missing someone after next season, we may not even need to look at portal guys, at least on offense.

All WRs other than Squirrel will be back and we will be bringing in King, hopefully Keys, etc.

Have Davis, Brame, and Jack.

Bishop, Lewis, Baker and Morris all will be couple years older.

Heard could come back for his SR year. By that time we should have a LG established since Karic will be gone already.

Satterwhite will have already started at Center.

Moe could also come back for a SR season.

Finally, we have a young core atNM

Seeing a lot of Branch and Florida stuff.

I’d literally cry.

Florida has lost a lot of talent to the portal already and Napier is on the hottest of seats, even with a strong end to the season. They are looking at no better than 7-5 at best in 2025 as well.

1. Two transfers, that's it.
2. Close bargaining holes. In what other world does one sided bargaining happen?
3. The market will likely self regulate, if entities just say 'no.' Then what? You're going to transfer? Ok. You get two.
4. The porthole window is a pre-spring practice, and fall practice deal.

Simple. Now, onto CFP playoff committee.

I don't know what you mean by "One sided bargaining" but in every major sports league the athletes have by far the most bargaining power in contract negotiating. Especially in the MLB. And it's that way for CFB coaches too.

And if you take him, Lewis likely looks elsewhere. Then Russell holds you hostage for more money next season or leaves.

There are reasons this staff isn’t trying to land him. And those reasons have to do with the program being better off without him.
Yeah, reminds me of the ole saying “sometimes the juice isn’t worth the squeeze“
This is probably one of those times😎

In the NFL, teams have the rookie pay scale and set contract lengths by draft round. They have injury clauses and the ability to cut players. They have salary caps, the franchise tag, and set free agency rules. All these things give teams some leverage, though they give players leverage, too.

CFB is the Wild West. Nothing except the market stops Arch Manning or Ryan Williams from saying “$20 million or I’m not playing.” Nothing except the market stops them from taking a huge payout and then transferring. Uncapped compensation plus no barriers to changing teams means the market favors the players.

The list I’m keeping an eye on:

Tacario Davis CB Arizona
Jamal Jerrett DT Uga
Monster Delane CB VT
Dasan McCollough LB Oklahoma
Jaylen Brown DL Mizzou

Duce Robinson TE USC

Justice Haynes RB Bama
TJ Searcy Edge UF
Damon Payne DT Bama
Jalil Farooq WR OU (talking to us - brother of Edrees)
James Thompson Jr DT Wisc (visited Dec 14)

Wendell Moe IOL VOL ✅

Any IOL that enter the portal here on out

Anyone have any thoughts/intel on any of these guys?

Hard to keep up. New names every day. So many options in the portal. I’m sure the list of prospects that would suffice is at least double what I have above.

In a perfect world for the 2026 season

QB: Nico (RS Jr) (he won’t be back)
RB: Bishop (RS Jr) / Lewis (Jr)
WR: Matthews (Jr) / Brazzell (Sr) / Staley (RS Soph)
TE: Davis (Jr) / Brame (Soph) / Jack (Soph)
OL:
LT: Heard (Sr)
LG: Anderson or Ginther (RS Soph)
C: Satterwhite (RS Soph)
RG: Moe (Sr)
RT: Sanders (RS Fr) or Perry (RS Soph)

Just depending on how LG and RT develop over the next year we may not need transfers for offense. Kind of crazy
I imagine Heard will be looking at the NFL after next year and Sanders goes to LT.

NFL Players also have:

A minimum salary that is at the top end of what NCAA make.
Profit sharing
Pension
Signing Bonuses
And hole host of other benefits. They can get their own endorsements outside of their actual contract to play football.

You are also ignoring that other leagues like the MLB, MLS, etc have no caps and their contracts are fully guaranteed. Juan Soto just received a record contract of 765 million dollars, all of which is guaranteed. MLB teams had ZERO leverage in those negotiations.

And anyone can demand the same thing in the NFL or the MLB or any other sport. In fact that does happen from time to time, usually at the detriment of the player when it does happen.
