No one’s really upset but you about this. I get it you really want to be right about something

Getting to littlevol levels of posting through it now though
🧡 aww.
Think you for at least not @ting me hahah

Agree. I really hope we keep Seldon. But if he leaves, we're thin. Even if we keep Keith because I don't see Keith as a guy who provides a lot.
I’m going to go ahead and say it…

I’m not sure Seldon has the right people around him in his life 🧐.
I think they’ve blown up his head about making the NFL, and to “protect” his body.

So he’s always careful. Too careful. Even his super low output in HS was to lessen his wear and tear. It’s been 4 years now we’ve all known this kid and hes had some kind of injury this whole time.

Seldon might RS but he still won’t be carrying the practice reps through spring and fall. He absolutely will not, and he’ll get further down the depth chart because the coaches won’t worry about him anymore being depended on.

He’s been here two years, man…. Two YEARS!
Wright didn’t even play his Sr year of HS. That dude came in slim at 195 lbs and had 1,000 yards after his first two years…

Lewis is contributing after his shoulder.
Bishop is back after hurting his ankle.
Keith is fine but not good enough get over those guys. Seldon?? 6’2 220 lbs and ripped! Runs a 4.3 fowty!! “You going to the league cuz!”
Yeah 😏. I bet that’s what his circle is telling him. Undermining his own development.

if we lose them then of course we need someone
I don’t know if we do…
Think about 2021.

Baker and Morris will be here in the Spring.
4 good backs with the chance to add a guy before summer after you see what you have.

I don’t know if we need a guy.

I think if Seldon is leaving we would have gotten some news already with people already announcing around the country or we’ll hear about it very soon. I have a feeling he stays and tries to win the job next year or at least split the job with Lewis. That might be why they decided to just make this year a scratch and redshirt since he missed so much time already. I’m hoping he does because his potential is enormous. Hopefully he has the competitive drive to not give up on what he set out to do while at Tennessee.

Absolutely. Do you remember what "we had"?

We had 1 returning RB who'd barely seen the field in Jabari Small. We had Dee Beckwith, who had redshirted the prior season and didn't really have a position. And we had Le'neath Whitehead, who had also redshirted the prior year and had no business as a scholarship RB in the SEC. Also, we had a skinny 3* RB recruit named Jaylen Wright coming in. So we had (I just looked this up) 117 yards of returning RB production (all Small in garbage time).

They weren't turning anyone away.

I get that. But we in a fairly similar position now, with a handful of guys with barely any experience. If Seldon had been healthy and produced well, I would feel more comfortable.

I’m going to go ahead and say it - how do you know the first thing about what the people around Seldon say to him?

How you equate saying “unproven as the bell cow” with questioning his talent is beyond me.

He had never been a starter. He’d never been the primary RB to carry the load before this season. That’s not an opinion. It’s a fact. He was UNPROVEN AS THE BELL COW.

Yes, we all knew he was talented. Could he hold up? Could he pass protect? Could he be a 3 down back?

Obviously, the answer was yes. But the question was there because he’d never done it before.

Maybe it's semantics, but coming into this season, Sampson already had multiple games where he was effectively the RB1 and took the majority of the snaps. Maybe there was concern over whether or not he could handle that sort of load over a full season, but we saw enough of Sampson over the previous 2 seasons to know that he was most certainly a RB1 caliber of RB.

We simply haven't seen that from anyone else currently on our roster.

We are in a situation now that is absolutely not even remotely close to what we had going into 2021. Night and day. Apples and oranges.

Bishop, Lewis, and Seldon (if he remains) EACH have exponentially more experience than the entire returning RB in 2021 COMBINED.

It's not the same. At all.

Yep. No question about his ability. Just a question of whether he could hold up as the bell cow, RB1. There's a reason he added 10-15 lbs of muscle going into this season.

Bishop in SEC: 45 carries for 211 yards. 4.68 avg.

Lewis in SEC: 30 carries for 98 yards. 3.26 avg

Why we need a RB. I’m done arguing over it and posting about it.

Love all yuns.

Edit: best of luck to Keith. He would kill it at a GT or WKU type team.
Or Kennesaw State, where Jerry Mack just became the Head Coach.
