'25 Portal Thread

We just made the playoffs. Only 2 other SEC teams made the playoffs. Using logic and facts instead of feelings, we are ahead of the 13 other teams in this conference.
On paper. My friend.
Where do we stand in Recruiting, NIL, Portal, blue chip ratio.

Making the playoffs was great.
I doesn’t erase the red flags we definitely have or guarantee we’ll be back next year.

We weren’t supposed to be anywhere near it this year.
Nobody expected this defense this year. Things keep turning out differently than they appear with Hypel. I’m liking the trend

I’m talking about results, not on paper. Who gives af where we stand on paper. The results were the playoffs while 13 other SEC teams watched us on tv while we outplayed expectations yet again under Heup - we were picked to finish 7th in the SEC.

Every team has red flags and zero teams are guaranteed to be back next year.

Haven't really seen any must have guys in the portal that we missed on. Maybe Singleton but he was going to the highest bidder.

Let the portal season run its course. Playing our young guys may be the best move in the long run.

Rahsul Faison is a must have.

Doubt we pursue though due to money.

Doubt we do have more money than them. Maybe overall but unlikely dedicated to football. Oregon has Nike money and uscjr has UnderArmour money. It’s why they’ve been able to land elite guys like that RB a few years ago and Dylan Stewart from the DC area where I think UA is home based.

I remember reading years ago the founder of UA was a uscjr alum and dedicated to helping revive their football program. Whereas we have more big money guys but supposedly they don’t gaf about football.

Evidently everyone that wants to talk about how great a season it was immediately after getting a total beat down in the playoffs.

Results- got ass beat embarrassing. Don’t want to talk about it.

What they want to say:
On Paper: Ohio st recruiting rankings, blue chip ratio , top 3 classes—. UT: We got less stars.

The results are we finished 3rd in the SEC and made the playoffs, outperforming expectations once again.

You’re basing your entire opinion off of a single game.

Two things can be true at three same time.

It's not as bad as some are trying to portray.

It's also not all unicorns and rainbows.

The last 3 seasons have been a great journey. We've out performed expectations I think. We've put ourselves back on the map nationally, and made ourselves relevant.

We have also seen how far, still, we are from truly being elite.

Ahead of a lot of programs that 4-5 years ago we were behind. Still behind the elite programs.

So we'll see what happens in the future, and what we're willing/able to do to maintain and close that gap. This next part isn't easy especially in today's day and age.

no I’m basing it off the Arkansas game, UGA game, Florida Game ( OT and a play or two away from not being in the playoffs)
Ohio st game and all the rest.
