There’s got to be structure. This is truly the wild, wild west. Some of these players are asking for more than their position coaches probably. Do you make more than your boss? Would you even think about asking as much as your boss? These kids want their cake and want to eat it too. They’ve approved this travesty so there’s no putting the toothpaste back in the tub. I just find zero entertainment value in this current culture of “collegiate” athletics. It’s just very sad.
Asking for more with an increase in your role is fine. It's setting precedent for others as you mentioned. But at the end of the day if he thinks the market is bigger for him elsewhere.......We certainly need to keep him. I would guess they need to be careful or many will want more.
FWIW….Boo rated 23/26 for the players that played 100 snaps according to PFF. He graded out at a 60.6 which according to them is a rating a backup would have.
I think he’s a solid player BUT let’s not act like he is Caleb Downs or something
That is the problem. Market value is always set on what someone is willing to pay.I would like to question how this is the staffs fault? Dude played a lot of snaps and had what I assumed was a pretty nice NIL package? Like I’m all for getting onto people but this feel more like the kid want to get a bag and we were not willing to pay it not saying it doesn’t suck but not sure what more the staff could do (besides obviously pay the price)
I’m holding out hope that he’s just making educated guesses based on X and message board vibes. A committed person can have a pretty high batting average that way. Fingers crossedOnly difference is @dascoop posted it and he has been on the money to this point.
Cap the **** and have contracts like the NFLThat is the problem. Market value is always set on what someone is willing to pay.
