Looking at LWS thread, once Perry announces for the portal, we'll be at 82. Pearce probably goes draft, that would put us at 81. Josephs could go draft, but for now, I'll lean toward him returning. We need to trim some fat from the OL room if we have guys that are never going to contribute. Will Masai Reddick ever play? Brian Grant? Our limit next season is 83. So if you take out Perry (portal) and Pearce (draft), we're at 81 scholarships and still reportedly want to add a RB, at least 1 WR, and at least 1 DL. And we may or may not be done at OL. So more guys will need to go to add all of that. Guess we'll see what happens.

More guys will hit the portal in spring as well.

A number of us that keep up with the numbers tried to preempt this by letting folks know we had to lose at least 8-9 guys plus some if we wanted anyone in the portal.

It wasn't losing people that incited some to panic. You expect to lose people. What was unexpected was losing almost the entire WR room. And Boo flirting with the portal didn't help either.

SEC kept it at 85 for 2025.

So the NCAA paid money to settle and law suit and then part of it was to take away the limit of scholarships and the SEC kept it at 85, doesn’t make a lot of sense. Are they running a risk of getting sued, as well as giving other conferences a leg up on the SEC?

Do you know what a difference a year will make. I'm convinced a large portion of our fanbase don't understand anything.

We said the same thing last year with all the DBs leaving. Just to find out they just weren’t very good. Same with this group of WRs.

Have beaten Alabama and Florida in 2 of last 3 years in football. Finished second 10 win regular season in three years after being lost for 25 seasons. #1 player in country from 2 years ago at QB. #1 player in country for 2026 committed at QB.

And people on here are miserable. Hopefully people have enjoyed this run more than it appears here right now.

None of these are really great options

Getting a player out of the portal just to get a player is ridiculous. If they aren’t going to play and help the team there is no point. We only have 83 scholarships and we are right about on that number.

There will be others in the portal when their season ends and more during the spring. Trust Heupel, he has handled the portal very smart each season. I worry more and his coaching staff and if he is cut throat enough to get rid of the deadweight.

If you dont think Arkansas and Ohio st coaches and players saying they new what our offense was going to run by how we lined up is being out coached.ignorant.
When the talent level is 10 miles apart , but looks like it’s 1000 miles apart in the game, you got outcoached.
