I’ll tell ya what, praise the coaches for some of this crap they have to deal with. If a kid went silent on me and wouldn’t respond until they all of a sudden got a renegotiated deal, I think I’d start to ******g hate that kid lol. That’s some disrespect that would be tough to move past and be buddy-buddy going forward
So for years coaches have had agents float their names for job openings just so they could get raise at their current school and now that the kids are doing it, the kids are being disrespectfu?

Interesting, just business as agents would say.

He doesn't dial anything up. He calls a defense like an 11 year old on Madden. So MuCh WrOnG wIt DiS pOsT.

Yeah, there’s a lot wrong. The first being you seem to have no understanding of Monte Kiffin or his defense. Or you simply don’t understand the word antithesis.

Kiffin was known for playing a ton of base, only sending 4, and sitting back in zone all night.

So your complaint is Banks doesn’t “dial up anything” (I’m assuming that means blitz) and you believe that’s the “antithesis” of Kiffin?

He def doesnt dial anything up

Gotta play vanilla 95% of the game, every week. It was crazy seeing how diff OSU and UGA play while also watching us play base every snap, no adjustment. Nothing.

Timmy B would only send 2 if he could.

And still get diced up

He has a blitz rate of around 33%. Not 5%. Odd to claim he makes no adjustments given we had numerous comeback wins in SEC play.

It’s almost as if you don’t know what you’re talking about

Tampa 2 didn't have soft zone coverage and zero called pressure. Doesn't have to be a biitz. He has the two safeties stay back but the corners and lbers were aggressive.

They didn't sit in zone all night. Gtfo. Watched him in Tampa for years. The guy had ball hawks and let them be aggressive. There was a mentality about his defenses. Monte was able to anticipate the offensive play call and counter it. Banks is not capable. He's not a defensive mind. When RGs guys aren't getting home, Banks has zero answers. It's easy to call a defense when the front four cause significant pressure.

Tampa 2 is a soft zone coverage scheme known for a bend but don’t break approach.

Yes, Tampa played primarily zone under Monte.

You seriously have no clue what you’re talking about. We send more blitzes than Monte did and we play more man coverage than Monte than.

I don't understand for the life of me how, as AP said, Matthews didn't know whether Nico was going to go into the portal or not. How's that even possible?

Makes me think Nico was actually considering entering the portal OR Matthews received bad info and acted on it.

It wouldn’t surprise to hear that Nico considered it after the WR and OL play this season.

The biggest difference is, coaches have contracts that are tied to the school. If coaches want to leave for another job, the other school has to buyout the contract from that other school.

A kid can get paid 2M from a school, never play (claim he’s hurt etc), and then transfer and the school has no return on that investment at all

Lmao..the defensive side of the ball has been the only thing that has consistently gotten better every year since Heupel took over.

Total defensive rankings since 2021

21 - 90th
22 - 37th
23 - 33rd
24 - 7th

If we don’t play cover 0 on every play and send 6 guys, these clowns aren’t happy. They wouldn’t be happy with that either because we’d likely give up 100 points a game. But it’s what they think they want.

They also want our DBs to get ran by while trying to chase WRs with their head turned to “find the football”.

All big time programs target players on other teams they want and go after them hard. I dont believe the Vols do that. Other teams are on offense, the Vols are on defense.
This is probably true but the NCAA has us in their crosshairs. They would love, LOVE to hang us on tampering charges. Not saying we would get the death penalty but not saying they wouldn’t try🤬

Seems like Huepel just kept promoting from within on O, and now has a staff full of GA’s on that side of the ball. Went out and got the best available on D with guys like Inge and we have shown a lot of improvement there. O, meanwhile, has regressed.

I think Tim banks showed a lot of improvement this year. There was some occasional wtf moments but that happens to everyone. I just want the WR and OL coach’s replaced. Heupel also needs to have a OC who he allows to incorporate their own ideas into, the playcalling was beyond predictable this entire season

New college football sucks. Hope some structure gets implemented sooner rather than later. Most people would do what these athletes do if given the chance in their profession. Double your salary or more, pay for your move, and give you extra perks to come work for them.

I thought the portal was to level the playing field, but it seems to me that it will only galvanize the upper-echelon teams. I think there may be a shift there, though. I'm not sure UGA and Bama will stay there. I think Texas and Florida will join OSU and Oregon, and Hollywood money will bring USC into the group. Then there will be a few teams that hover just below, such as Notre Dame.

Might be a good time to find an FCS team to become a fan of tbh.
