The only name on that list that concerns me in the slightest is MM, and I expect him to remain a Vol.
So it was Buck Fitzgerald who shopped Boo around to help him get a bigger NIL deal. I’m sure he is taking a percentage of it. This is why we shouldn’t recruit NPA kids. In Boo’s case however we had no choice.
It doesn't do Tennessee or Nico any good now to give the impression that he ever considered it. But if one thinks he didn't, at best, have some strong discussions about the same things we've all seen this year, the solution for those issues, and probably some additional financial incentive, then heads are firmly buried in the sand. Part of those discussions was almost assuredly to make aware that he had other options himself if there was not going to be some changes/improvements on the OL, at WR, and potentially with the neutered offensive scheme.
Now, before the sunshine police accuse me of merely speculating...yes, that is all speculation. But if you think that a guy who (along with his "team") negotiated an alleged $8 million NIL deal as a high school senior isn't looking out for his best interests, well...I think it's highly doubtful he just sat back and hoped for the best.
Recruiting sevices whiff on ratings all the time.I mean, Webb was a top 50 WR in every ranking except ESPN...Leacock was a top 25 WR in every service and 4 star by all....gotta be a little worried that Pope couldn't develop them enough to get on the field ahead of Nimrod or injured guys.
Leacock to me is the big one, Pope was his Primary and this was his 2nd year in the system.
Webb ended up at Maryland (4-8) and Leacock is visiting Stanford (3-9) this weekend. Seems like reality is setting in for those that hit the portal.I mean, Webb was a top 50 WR in every ranking except ESPN...Leacock was a top 25 WR in every service and 4 star by all....gotta be a little worried that Pope couldn't develop them enough to get on the field ahead of Nimrod or injured guys.

I’m fairly certain the “insiders” reported this exactly to be the truth. I even recall On3 and 247 saying Nico had met with the staff to discuss all of this, which IMO, he definitely should be doing for his own benefit and ours.
Next year he’s draft eligible. It’s a big year for him and he needs to put up big numbers. Our current scheme does Nico no favors and isn’t effective. I know Heupel is stubborn, but I think he needs to completely re-tool his offense this off-season and evolve like good coaches are supposed to do. If Rick Barnes can completely change how his teams plays offense after he turned 68 years old, Heupel should be doing the same thing in his 40s. He’s too young to stay attached to any way of doing something.
lolIf they don’t keep him Heupel is going to lose half the fanbase. Lots of people saw him playing trash players in front of our most athletic WR. Keeping MM on the bench was criminal. Kid deserves reparations. Give the man his money!
I think Leacock was just huge miss by everyone. Well I'll gladly take a top 10 national ranked defense and being great to elite in 85% of the games this year over the alternative.BOY WHAT YOU MEAN WHATD TIM BANKS DO?!?!?
Guy is ass at calling a defense. His success comes from RGs unit getting home. Without that, he's absolute ass. The antithesis of Monte kiffin
You keep making this argument, but coaches are employees bound by contracts and performance. Players are freelancers paid for the simple use of their name, image, and likeness. They aren't employees. They aren't under or bound by any contract. They aren't held accountable for production or lack thereof. So Buck did for Boo what Sexton has been doing for years….Difference is Boo was getting paid silver while coaches are in the Platinum category of pay….
Nico could also be playing the connection card of reaching out to WR but needs room/money to make it happen. Nobody will complain if Branch ends up here and Bru is back. That leaves Boo, Staley and incoming freshman getting rest.It doesn't do Tennessee or Nico any good now to give the impression that he ever considered it.
