But Branch isn’t worth $1-$2mil for the 800 yards and 5 TDs he’s had in 2 years?

As far as the numbers actually go, someone link me to an article saying he wants $2-$3mil, and if that is actual number I want to see if that’s just for him, or if it’s both him and his brother together. I know I’ve seen them talk about a “package deal”

No way man. Be a fan of a service academy if that’s what you want. I want 9+ wins and in the mix for the playoffs.

I’d like to see contracts involved for players so there’s less chaos but we have to swim in the necessary waters to be a part of the big leagues.

Slot, plus he’s good for a kickoff or two to the house. He has 10 tds potential if Heup schemes it right, worth the money IMO.

The coaches have seen Matthews. If they didn't like what they saw, they wouldn't have paid him (and this assumes his supposed new deal would have him making around 1 million. I haven't seen anyone say that.)

Branch has had 2 seasons in an offensive friendly offense against inferior competition and he's failed to really stand out. Would I take him? Sure. But overpaying for mediocrity is a sure way to become what Southern Cal has been since Riley arrived.

And Vols fans on this site believe Squirrel is a huge loss for us. Fans aren't typically the best judge of talent.

Branch ain't the guy worth selling the farm for. If we were gonna do that, we should have been in play for Concepcion or Singleton. Don't overpay for a guy just because he is the best of the rest.

They said they were a package deal and we are technically looking for a safety. Makes a ton of sense for both parties.

If that does indeed end up being our WR room, at some point I would LOVE to see Branch, Boo and Staley on the field at the same time.

I’m just thinking Nico got $8M for 4 years and Bryce Underwood got $10M for 4 years. That tells me top tier QBs are worth $2-2.5M/year. A top tier WR may be worth $1M but if you start giving average portal WRs that much you’ll upset your whole roster and drive yourself into either a $30M roster or seriously toxic locker room
