'25 Portal Thread

this is the guys that said Nico dad needed to talk to him directly so he could post a story right? Is he a clown?

I’ll be real with you guys, Nico loves this place and fanbase. He’s well taken care of $$$ wise. Only way he’d leave is if we fail to get him proper weapons around him and he feels like he has to for his career. He and his family 100% met with people, but they simply wanted to know what the plan was regarding the portal. The family got answers they were satisfied with, let’s see what happens.

It does say YAC/reception. That seems like a pretty obscure stat in the first place so it's possible it could be correct. If he caught a lot of ball behind the LOS, his YAC would look really good, but his YPC wouldn't really change much.
There is NO chance in hell that statement is accurate.

Appreciate all the insiders talking us down from the ledge over the past 48 hrs. Even if we lose MM which hope we don’t we still have a competent coaching staff that based on past record we know will go out and upgrade at the positions of need.

Just imagine if we still had Butch or Dooley as our coach during the NIL era. Dooley would probably let the entire offensive line leave without replacing them and Butch would be giving out quotes about how the portal can’t measure a 5 star heart or some nonsense like that. Heck if Kiffin was our coach our entire roster would be new every year.

Our administration/coaches literally flipped the bird to the NCAA for Nico. No way he was going to leave

I think our WR corps led the nation in YAC/reception nullified by penalty.

Hurting ourselves.
It’s really sad… Just like the nonsense about Spyre keeping all this money instead of giving it to the athletes… People can throw that stuff out on Twitter, but it is being used against Tennessee and already has been over the last 24 hours… And when a player doesn’t end up here because of it then it will be what it will be

I would also say the Tennessee Athletic Department isn't endorsing that organization nor are our big boosters giving millions of dollars without detailed visibility into their operating expenses.
sounds like a disgruntled ex employee, or a sociopath is feeding targeted misinformation. Reminds me of true story about Tombstone, Earps and Doc Holliday almost hanged due to absolute horse **** from Ike Clanton. Turns out in addition to being a coward and self serving prick, Ike Clanton was a criminal mastermind.

How fragile is your wittle ego, or small is your penis if Spyre or its owner hurt you that badly?

Again, YAC and YPC aren't necessarily related.

If player A catches 10 balls behind the LOS and runs for 10 yards every time, his YAC is 100 yards (or 10.0 YAC per receptoion) and his YPC is 10.0. If player B catches 10 passes for a 10 yard gain and goes down immediately each time, he also has a YPC of 10.00, but player B has a YAC/recpetion of zero.

Again I am skeptical of this stat as well, as it's a very obscure stat in the first place. I don't even know where to find that information. But there are certainly scenarios that make this plausible.

I know what the stat means. If his yds/reception are 10.7, then his YAC/reception WILL BE considerably less than 10.7 yards over the course of a season with 40+ receptions.

While the stats are different, they are related.

Maybe our players should speak up for them and set the record straight? All it takes is a “I am grateful for Spyre Sports and they have fulfilled all terms and promises set forth in my NIL deal thus far.” Doesn’t get any more straight from the source than that.

They already do that. Boo thanked the Vol Club in his most recent post
