If Nico can take the next step we are in good shape. Otherwise, 8-9 wins is probably reality.

He will almost certainly be the factor. I think we struggle up front again and the running backs won't be quite as good. But if he can take a major step forward we could be better.

Talking to the family early in the week, I never felt like they wanted to go. As his mom told me, this wasn’t planned. All his stuff is in Knoxville. But once he submitted Mike was gonna take his time. The timing was what kept throwing me off because Mike was letting it marinate while this 48 hour time limit was set to expire. It was never about money. They never asked for more money this week. I think it was uncertainty with Nico, which got resolved, and what the offense was going to do to adjust in 2025 to look more dynamic in the passing game. Mike’s visit in 2022 for Alabama and seeing Hyatt go up and down the field is what made Tennessee the spot for him. They got the answers they were looking for and thus you have the decision we see today.
