Miller Moss and Nico had almost identical passing stats and Moss played in 4 fewer games. He wasn't necessarily the problem and Nico wasn't the solution.

That's not a knock on Nico, but he was every bit as responsible for our passing game struggles as the OL and the WRs. Those 3 units were very rarely in harmony against SEC competition.

To be fair to AP, Hubbs thought the same thing. They got word MM submitted paperwork then UT had 48hrs to put him in. The holiday messed with the timing. It is nice to know the AD can still keep info internal when it wants to.

True. I think they’ve probably had discussions together that goes something like “Never answer questions about the portal with any amount of certainty.”

Anyone with any connection to the coaches was getting the same information. He submitted the papers and completed the portal training video. He talked to coaches twice. The first time was an NIL routine talk like the one they had with Boo. They assured him Nico was returning etc. He seemed satisfied and then went quiet for two days. He knew he had til yesterday to submit, but reporters thought it was three days ago. He asked for one more meeting with his parents and coaches to hear the plan to fix the passing game and develop him. It was a good talk, they were satisfied and he never entered the portal. The long quiet was confusing, but apparently he knew how many days he had and wanted his parents and coaches together one time. From his perspective, he wasn’t leaving and it wasn’t dramatic, but it was stressful for the fans.

Wait a minute, wait a minute! Are you saying fans created an irrational narrative based on their own ill-conceived and ill-informed notions through a circle jerk of tween like gossip and emotion?! I do not believe such things happen.

It needs be more than a good talk.

They need to fix it. It’s in shambles and looks terrible.

It is damn near unrecognizable from what MM saw in Neyland that night vs Alabama.

Nico may not be Hendon Hooker (he’s probably not) - but that’s no reason to abandon the motion and creativity.
