Idk but it sounds like we missed on our targets or they never even entered the portal.

Mods said we would “spend big” this portal cycle and we have jack nothing to show for it
Did I say spend big or be aggressive? I mean you can be aggressive but doesn’t meant kids will even give a listen or won’t be done somewhere. Or kids will elect to not move after all. You guys want it spelled out with no hiccups…

For all you complaining about us not being active enough in the portal yet, let me remind you when some of our transfers committed last year:

McMurray - 1/9
Kitselman - 1/13
Heard - 1/21
Moi - 1/21

A lot of our insiders (King, Ericvol, etc.,) have said that we are currently working on players. Be patient and it will all come together. I trust the staff that has won 10 games the past 2 out of 3 years

That's not good.

I dont understand how we dont have enough room. We lost 5 receivers.

Need at least one WR in addition to Jefferson. A DL and a G.

Staff has work to do.

You should also note the portal window for entry was much longer last year. This year they shortened it to 20 days, with the exception being you have like 5 days after your team last plays. So all but 4 teams have reached that window period.

I think we can still find some help. I just think you can't accurately compare last season to this season with the changes that were made.

Well, we were asked to be patient and that big things would happen. Right now we have nothing to show for it. I’m stoked that MM is returning, but our WR room needs help. It’s going to be a huge dice roll going into next season if Amari Jefferson is our biggest portal addition (and he hasn’t even committed yet).

I’m gonna wait until the dish gets to my table before I criticize the chef.

Don’t like the smell coming from the kitchen right now, though.

This thread is now just manchildren like OP stomping their feet and pouting b/c CJH didn’t sign 500 portal kids this week. It would be funny if it wasn’t so predictable.

We all want gamechangers, but even without adding, we're not horrible. We're young, and inexperienced at positions, but not without talent. Matthews, Brazzell, and Staley are all talented. The need for depth may force us to play the freshmen and get them experience. But they're all talented. If we add AJ, that's even more potential. Growing pains next season could certainly benefit us down the road.

IF Elarbee has done his job, we should have the players we need for the OL on the team. We've brought in some young guys who should be ready to play. I'll be the first to admit my doubt in Elarbee, but at this point, it's the coach, not the players, if they're not ready to contribute as at least reserves. Not sure adding more to hide the inevitable is a benefit or not.

I think we can make do with what we have at RB if needed. Same for the DL. The only position that truly concerns me is safety, mostly because we get snakebit with injuries there, but Farooq is a talented young kid, hopefully ready to make his mark. We have all the makings of a good team already. We just have to put the pieces together and hope the coaches can coach them up.

We have one guy that’s committed an offensive guard. Can’t wait to watch Nico ball out with 350 lb wideouts lined up outside the numbers next fall. Heisman 🔒

Herein lies my problem with VQ. People pay you for information, yet you get agitated when they ask you for information. I understand there is information they have that they can't give, but it seems counterintuitive when your business model is "pay us for inside information".
