Based on things said by AP and our insiders here, I'm not so certain that's true. We've already taken one OL and are supposedly looking for another. And we're looking at taking 2 WRs. Not sure they would be doing that if they were as confident as you suggest. I think we can make do with what we have, and I think the coaches may feel the same, but they're definitely looking to improve.

Yep. Always a reason to be in the portal. Money obviously, but if he were all that and a box of cracker jacks, I suspect the home school would have gotten him paid much like we did with Matthews. There's a reason USC, UGA and OSU type programs let kids walk. Maybe he's not good enough there, but he's better than what we have here? Dunno, but it will be interesting to see who Heupel actually goes after and signs.
I’d expect nothing else. It’s always about spending relative to perceived value. UGA spends a lot, but it also has held the line on not matching when the ask gets outside the valuation. I think Wilson will get paid somewhere, and missing on Terry has potentially opened up some money on the DL for him to get paid at UGA. It’s all about what other teams can offer in money and scheme (as I think he wants to be featured more). UT will be attractive with its aggressive DE play.
Exactly. He’s not a “can’t miss” or “gotta have him” WR. He’s a guy with modest production relative to his headline athleticism. Maybe a new situation unlocks some of that production, or maybe not.
It really is a whole new dynamic that teams are having to figure out on the fly. Getting the right balance between paying guys enough to keep them and not wrecking the locker room (or fighting the expectation of pay-to-stay instead of pay-to-play) is really tough.
