I would want Innis solely because he doesn’t seem interested in NIL apparently.

This was in 2023, when teams were offering him crazy NIL deals:
“Do you take the money now or do you get developed to be the best you can be, and in the long run you’ll earn more money and be more ready and developed by the time you get to the NFL?”
OSU spent a reported $20mil on this roster. They'll pay whoever they want to keep. As a starter, Tate will be paid. Innis, maybe not.

Hope they get someone to throw the ball to him.
I just have a feeling that Tate will enter the portal. And I know everyone is saying, "why would he want to enter when he is an integral part of their offense?" That's true, but they don't have a "proven" QB next year and maybe he doesn't want to be the #2 or #3 WR. Here he has that opportunity and I know Nico didn't have a great year this past season but he has plenty of upside and I believe others kids around the country, if they're smart, can see that. Tate was very high on TN before he committed to OSU. This is just my opinion, but I think it's Tate. And KingVFL still thinks we land a "splash player" at WR as well. That's the only WR I would consider in that category besides Wingo, who was also high on TN before he went to Texas. Would take either one, but, imo, it's Tate!!

I’ll take whoever enters the portal.

I can’t lie, Innis would probably be ranked in the top 10 WRs in the portal due to him being a younger guy and having that potential.

He may not be getting paid that much nor is he getting that much playing time. Like in that article I posted, Innis said he wanted to be developed over NIL….doesn’t seem like he’s getting either At OSU.

We don't have a true #1 WR, so why would we promise that? We spread the ball around. And we haven't had a dynamic passing game in two seasons now. So I just don't see how we would be a "more attractive" place to play for Tate. I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong, but it makes no sense.

Well, Ewers was asked prior to the game last night if he would be playing in the NFL next year and he said yes so, unless he was lying or changes his mind due to draft feedback, he won't be transferring anywhere.
It was a joke.

I don't blue font. You either get it or you don't.

I believe if Carnell Tate portals out it will be to Oregon where his soccer playing girlfriend goes to school. A Carson Beck move ....

I offer you $1m/yr to be a pro or $6m to play 1 more year in college and possible raise your pro value. . . I'd probably take that $6m, since many pro careers don't last much longer than 6yrs anyway. (He'd probably get more than $1m anyway)

Yeah, I think Ewers best bet is to go pro. If not, Arch is gonna take his place at Texas and who knows where he would land in the portal. He didn't have a great season, but his draft stock is probably as high as it's gonna get. Better go now or take the chance on regressing or losing your starting job and possibly going in the later rounds or even undrafted next year.

If on-field eye test is any indicator, OSU's wide receiver room looks to be getting developed better than just about anyone in the country. What makes you believe he's not getting developed, and would expect to be better developed here?

You said he's a younger guy, so he is probably expecting to get his time on the field. Not seeing him much now != him not being developed.

Innis is a Sophomore just as Tate is..

yeah Tate got too many targets last night, he's not portaling.... probably did it on purpose to keep him... he hasn't really seen action like that during the regular season... maybe osu hearing rumors of portaling and want to keep him locked up...

They did it bc the defense focused their attention on Smith and Egbuka.

He had 7 catches vs TX. 6 vs Michigan. 6 vs Purdue.

That's just my opinion. I'm not saying we would promise him a #1 WR spot. Honestly, I don't think that's something you can promise. A lot of that depends on how the game is played and how the WR plays himself. I suppose we could offer the "potential" to be a #1 WR. For whatever reason, he liked TN when they recruited him, but decided to go to OSU. And he probably sees more opportunity with Nico than an incoming freshman at QB or the portal. So that's what I would say as to why he would possibly come here. But, it's my opinion. Just hoping it comes to fruition.

People don't seem to remember this is a line of scrimmage league.
True, and… Our league isn’t even in the championship game, but the teams there are built on great line play, modeled after UGA and Alabama of the last decade. OSU in particular, plays an OL with a ridiculously high blend of stars and years on the field.

Been there for 2 years and hasn’t cracked the starting lineup, nor does have over 200 yards receiving.

Will be a Jr next season with both Tate and Smith back. He might start next season, he might not.

He’s definitely one that would at least play more here.

Ultimately, who knows, maybe he is content with his role right now.

Might not start here either if he can’t beat out Staley (I’m just assuming he’s penciled in as slot)
