Deion was also always a "me first" player. I'll never forget him running down the sidelines high stepping toward the end zone with his team losing by 25 points in the fourth quarter when he was with the Falcons. His sons, and Hunter to an extent, display the same characteristics on the field. Deion played, and has coached, as though he is more interested in individual accolades than team success. He also, as a coach, wants all the attention on him and his team when they win but doesn't want to be questioned about anything when they lose. I think all those things, added to the arrogance you mentioned, are why many people don't like him.
