I'm sure they both played just fine but the one safety who had a memorable performance in that game was Will Brooks.

Will Brooks, who we lose. Safety is a position where we've been snakebit by injuries the last few years. Another body, or two, would make me feel better about the position. I'd take Cooley. Fitzgerald would be nice, too, but a luxury. But we aren't looking for safety help. Coaches are happy with who they have. Hopefully, no one gets hurt.

Well we are on top as far as order of teams go from the post!! And BTW, before Heupel arrived at TN, we were never even in the conversation with an Oregon or Texas. So that in itself shows that we are back to relevancy. No, we might not win all of the recruit/ transfer portal battles but if we can stay in that upper echelon with teams of this magnitude then we are gonna continue to be on the rise. And eventually we will win some of these close battles and stake our claim as a top team.

Again no he wouldn’t have. But to each his own. And no if he was on our team, I would still have picked Jeanty.

I have not cared about the Heisman since Peyton, and don’t care this year either. I will let comparative future success tell me the rest of the story this year due to all the unavoidable public contention.

KingVFL seems to think we are taking a different lineman instead of Pregnon. But, he hasn't mentioned who or if he is currently in the portal or not. Just thought I'd put that out there. If you want to read it, it's on the Pregnon thread.

And on that note, in most situations, but not all, Heisman winners don't always equate to future success in the NFL.

Dude put up over 250yds of offense against texas top10 defense. No way in hades Jeanty or Hunter can do that IMO. That dude was ridiculous...and his team should have had a 1st down at the texas 40yd line with 56 seconds left and a timeout. Would have likely kicked a FG to win it. Skattebo is really good. His size 9.25 head probably didnt need to swell from being a Heistman winner though. That thing would have looked like the Hindenburg 😆

If we're dead set on bringing in another OL, I hope it's not someone already in the portal. After Prego, no one looks that impressive. Seems like we'd be better off going with one of our young guys over who's left.

I still do. If we are sitting here in 12 days and that hasn’t happened something didn’t come through as planned.(This is a quote from @Ericvol2096 in the Pregnon thread) So this tells me that its someone still playing because 12 days is 7 from the national championship and 5 more to enter the portal!! 7+5=12 all day!!

our NIL must be flat broke. Getting a bit embarrassing that we seem to get outbid on just about everyone so far... crazy that the elite teams, who we are supposedly trying to get to their level, seem to have unlimited funds...If we can't compete in the NIL game and get who we want because we don't have the money, then we're not going to be competing for championships and the schools with the $$$$, will continue to feast. College football is so broken.
