That makes it sound like it’ll be earth shatteringHe was super negative in the chat whenever anyone asked about potential portal entries and had a post with some thoughts about how no one on a roster is safe anymore. Nothing specific, but you can also tell when he is saying something without actually saying something.
They use it to provide depth and fill obvious holes in the starting lineup. I don’t ever see them bringing in someone to push a returning starter to the bench or out the door though unless it’s a Gerald Mincey situationOur portal strategy seems to be we don't chase the superstars. We're looking for a particular kind of player. Fit is more important than anything else, including insane talent. It's how they maintain culture.
I wouldn’t listen to a word Sparks has to say. If anything, I might even believe the opposite of what he saysIve seen where Sean Sparks, the guy who runs Vol Vault on facebook and who is supposedly in the know has mentioned Francis Mauigoa from Miami as a name to watch. Could be who AP was referencing.
I disagree about Thornton being a horrible pick up at this point. The guy has made very big plays this year. He is the most dynamic receiver we have had this year when it comes to outrunning the defense.
But yes, it is clear he needed development.
He has been far from consistent. He has 647 yds and 6 TDs. Almost half of those yards and 5 TDs came in 3 games against UTC, Ms St and Vandy. He has required a lot of work to become a one trick pony.Minimal production? He’s our leading receiver this season both in yards and touchdowns. His production sucked last season, but this season he’s been our only consistent big play threat in the passing game.
No idea who Sparks is, but unless Elarbee has completely failed at his job, which is a possibility, we don't need OTs. We need Guards.Ive seen where Sean Sparks, the guy who runs Vol Vault on facebook and who is supposedly in the know has mentioned Francis Mauigoa from Miami as a name to watch. Overall he has had around 900 yds and 8 TDs in 2 seasons. Is that type of production worth hindering the development of your HS guys and eventually losing 2 of them? I would say no and that is a bad portal pick up.
