I really want Cam Coleman out of the portal. High upside super talented WR that was productive in his true freshman season at auburn but they couldn’t utilize him well at all in that offense since the rest of it sucked.

Good portal tackles that can come right in and play are far a few between. Probably the toughest position to recruit or find in the portal. It takes more time to develop quality OL than anything, especially tackles. GBO

They use it to provide depth and fill obvious holes in the starting lineup. I don’t ever see them bringing in someone to push a returning starter to the bench or out the door though unless it’s a Gerald Mincey situation

Yes. And sometimes to take that next step, you have to have the talent.

I disagree about Thornton being a horrible pick up at this point. The guy has made very big plays this year. He is the most dynamic receiver we have had this year when it comes to outrunning the defense.

But yes, it is clear he needed development.

Minimal production? He’s our leading receiver this season both in yards and touchdowns. His production sucked last season, but this season he’s been our only consistent big play threat in the passing game.

He has been far from consistent. He has 647 yds and 6 TDs. Almost half of those yards and 5 TDs came in 3 games against UTC, Ms St and Vandy. He has required a lot of work to become a one trick pony.

Overall he has had around 900 yds and 8 TDs in 2 seasons. Is that type of production worth hindering the development of your HS guys and eventually losing 2 of them? I would say no and that is a bad portal pick up.

No idea who Sparks is, but unless Elarbee has completely failed at his job, which is a possibility, we don't need OTs. We need Guards.

Staff is very methodical in their approach to the transfer portal. They don't want guys chasing money. And that's exactly what a lot of higher end guys are doing. They want guys that will fit with this team.

Well he’s also missed a lot of time with injury.

Thornton has been a great pickup. This O needs the big play threat and he is that.
