Here’s what’s frustrating about Pope. He’s a good recruiter! He’s gotten a handful of good receivers in his time here, but he HAS to change and start developing the talent he’s getting. As a coach you can change and adapt, and that’s what he needs to do in order to get our receivers to play up to their potential. Here’s to hoping he gets better.

I'm not sure why they cant seem to close on a receiver in this portal cycle. My guess is they are being super picky. Further, every one else is too! Supply meet demand.

You literally have kids sitting pat, posting a memojicon, and becoming millionaires. So...why would they move?

That attitude is one of the reasons we don’t have more people contributing. If we had 100K people giving 25/mo that would be $30M a year!!!

Yeah I think you’re right that there have been few true difference makers and none have been worth the cost at the end of the day. If you believe the rumors the few perceived difference makers cost more than all our other receivers combined. I don’t think any of them were sure difference makers anyway. Everyone talks about it taking time to really pick up our offense anyway. I say ride with what we have as there is definitely talent at the position. I think if Nico develops then magically our receivers will be better.

I absolutely agree our football is in great shape. Not arguing that. Just get tired of being out bid. I don’t care if you like it or not. As far as contributing? I love how people like you make idiotic assumptions. As soon as the Volunteer Club made donating tiers available, I have been donating. But hey keep your conjecture going. I am not gonna apologize for wanting us to be an elite program.

even with Ohio State's budget they didn't get every transfer portal guy they wanted. they didn't keep 100% of the guys who still had eligibility left who weren't going to the NFL. you think their fans are tired of getting "outbid" too?

You are correct. Everyone gets outbid here and there. We unfortunately have been outbid consistently this off season. We can either deny this is happening or do something about it. Thats why people are wanting to get more people donating.

I'm not sure how you budget your finances, but do you overpay for everything? I splurge for some items, but you guys are eager to pay premium prices for unproven talent.

everybody gets outbid consistently. you just have confirmation bias on UT. you pay attention to who we were "outbid" for, but don't know about when it happens to other teams.

these are just the positions where they grabbed a top 10 guy at the position.
Oregon took 9 guys, and only 5 of them cracked the top 10 at their position.
Ohio State took 6 guys, but only 3 of them cracked the top 10 at their position.

Oregon took the 6th ranked RB in the portal. meaning 5 outbid them.
Ohio State took the 7th ranked RB in the portal. meaning 6 outbid them.

Oregon took the 2nd & 4th ranked IOL. meaning 1 outbid them.
Ohio State took the 9th ranked IOL. meaning 8 outbid them.

Oregon took the 5th ranked TE. so 4 outbid them.
Ohio State did get the top TE. so I guess here they weren't outbid.

Oregon took the 10th ranked DL, so 9 outbid them.

Oregon took the 6th ranked S, so 5 outbid them.

Oregon has the 10th ranked transfer class, so 9 outbid them overall to this point.
Ohio State clocked in at 49th, so 48 outbid them.

I doubt we commit a dime for a receiver until after spring and we give more reps to our 3 lead returnees AND 3 prized WR newbies, AND 2 new also prized lengthy TE guys. Not to mention the unexpected return of KITS. Only so many balls to go around.

Might not be how we want to burn our open roster spots and acquisition money.
