Possible DC hire?

our defense has given up less than 30 points in every game this year. yes, there are problems on defense and a lot of it comes down to needing better athletes on the back in (i think help is on the way). lack of offense in key moments is glaring issue.
Seems nobody thinks back to back to back 3 and outs followed by turn over has no effect on the defense.

With majority of the fan base wanting Banks/Martinez out next year, who would y'all suppose we should go after? I have seen commenters on facebook say Alex Grinch... but I have also seen the same ones say fire Heupel and start the rebuild process over.
Fan bases don't decide it. I don't think a majority want Banks gone anyway. Coaches don't last long if they cater to the whims of a few reactionaries that haven't got a clue

Just when you think things can't get any more ridiculous................VN always surprises.

It's not a majority that wants them gone. Only a few.

Derek Mason would be my want.
We need a minority coach in leadership to help with recruiting.

Agreed. Nick Saban’s Croatian background is what really sells it with recruits. If only Banks were a minority coach and if only his defense had shown improvement every year…

So here is an issue with firing Banks that many of us probably aren’t seeing. Say we fire him and bring in a new DC. Typically a new DC will want to make his own hires for position coaches. That could mean potentially losing Rodney Garner. And is there ANY guarantee that we could do better than him? Highly unlikely.

Garner is about the only piece of that staff that I am terrified of losing. Just think he adds so much value that is almost irreplaceable.

Banks, I've moved to the neutral side on him. No adjustments are really starting to get old, but willing to ride it out and see what he can do with the talent he has had a hand in bringing in. Martinez, can find the first KAT out of town for all I care.

Not just Garner. BJM has done a great job.

Any DC wanting to replace Garner is an idiot and shouldn't be considered.

The defensive front seven is the obvious strength of this season's squad and have outperformed my expectations.
