Possible to get double bye still?

If we have to beat a quality team then yes. If one more win gets us in regardless of competition then obviously I'd prefer no double bye...unfortunately there's no real way of knowing that answer.

I feel like a win over Missouri and we are solidly in, a win over another scrub only improves our spot, and a loss to a quality team hopefully won't knock us out. I guess I'm looking at it that a win over Missouri + win over Vandy - loss to UK is better than just a win over Missouri and - loss to UK.

In order of teams I don't wanna see...

Florida, Missouri, Ole miss, Kentucky, Alabama and Georgia

Ole Miss has 22 wins. Why aren't they in the tournament?

Interesting. Look at CCM's record vs those teams.

3-0 FL
0-0 Mizz
1-3 Ole Miss
1-3 Kentucky
1-2 Bama
1-3 Georgia

Not saying I disagree with you. Just saying that it's interesting. Say we beat Missouri, then our record would go to 1-0 vs them and they'd still be at the top of the list of teams we least like to face in the SEC tournament.

Because their SOS is garbage, but you knew that already.

Would you rather beat Missouri, beat Vandy and lose to UK....or beat Missouri, and lose to UK?

Not saying either gets us in, but which is more likely?

5 seed would be absolutely perfect, much better than 4 (for reasons stated in previous post). It would give us the best chance to win 2 games.

4 and 5 would face off in a quarterfinal round, so there should be no difference in being each of those seeds except for the extra 5 v 12 game that would have to be played. I guess if you're saying to win 2, we need the 5/12 game, then ok.

Never mind golf just saw this lol...thanks anyway. This needs it's own thread or needs to remain bumped in this thread.

This is the scenario I see btw...

This would have us getting a double bye, and playing most likely UK on Friday....would everyone like this draw? I definitely don't like the scenarios that have us playing Missouri in our first or 2nd game...guess it comes down to would you rather play UK or Ole Miss?

As requested, I am posting this in its own thread.

What's your reasoning for no bye?

A double-bye has it's pros and cons. Theoretically the team should be well rested and more prepared. But the layoff is a little long and sometimes teams look a little rusty to start out. I'd lean towards a double-bye.

But when it comes down to it, I'm leaning towards wanting to play Ole Miss. So I don't really know.

I guess I'd be fine with either happening

Not singling you out GB but not sure why anybody wants to play ole miss again. Our best lineup consists of 4 guards. And their best lineup consists of 2 quality posts. They are a matchup nightmare for us, and I dont think it matters how they are trending before we meet.

Understand wanting to save face, but would rather play anybody but ole miss, it possible.

Because its hard to be a quality opponent 3 times in a season.

Also, if it doesn't matter how a team is trending, then why would we want to play UK?

Because we matchup good with this KY team. I understand the its hard to beat a team 3 times argument. I would just rather play anybody other than Ole Miss. I would have the same opinion of GA if they had the offensive threats Ole Miss has.

That's fair. Pick your poison IMO

do we really need a double bye i mean we need to play all the games we can to keep them on the court playin usually disaster happens to this team if they catch a break JMO

My guess is that if you looked at it statistically it'd be one of those sports cliches that make no sense at all(like "never take points off the board) and you're not any less likely to win a 3rd game vs an opponent if you won the first two vs splitting them..probably the opposite is true
