Yeah, I read in one of the Orgeron hiring articles that he was still a possibility...anyone heard anything new on him?

So I know Lake/Perry for Dbs and I see we're still after Gonzo. Heard rumors on KNjr for LBs as well as the guy from TB. Gran for RBs and possibly Bates for somewhere on the O. Anybody else we are seriously looking at that hasn't been named in my reply?

Perry and Bates are longshots. Both will land on their feet in the NFL. Gonzo will probably stay in Florida too.

I don't think we have heard the name of the WR coach yet.

I'd say Lake is close to a lock for DB coach.

I am thinking out of courtesy to the new OC in case he has someone else in mind that would be equal to or better. I think Gran now interviews with the new OC so everyone is making Nice Nice.

I hadn't thought of that but it makes plenty of sense of course. I really like the thought of Gran at RBs, but what would that mean for Drayton? Can he even coach anything else?

I actually think that Gran is being held off because we are still going to go after Gonzo and we are keeping Drayton on as bait. If Gonzo doesn't bite, we will can Drayton and hire Gran.

Nope, still have a few spots open. 1-4 are open. It's possible Lane could take WRs, Drayton stay with RBs, Monte take LBs or DBs, and we hire one more. More than likely, though, neither of the Kiffins will coach a position and Drayton is gone unless we land Gonzales. That means we likely need a WRs, RBs, DBs, and LBs coach along with a ST coordinator. Cregg could take LBs, but then we'd need a TEs coach.

So you are saying we have a better chance at Gonzo, if we keep Drayton.

Some think we may throw a title like Passing Coordinator/WR coach and, yeah, retaining Drayton would help with him. I suppose there could be a situation where we land Gonzo for that position, land Gran for RBs/STs, keep Drayton but for TEs and put Cregg at LBs.

If we land Gonzo, the offense would be set, right? Chaney would be OC/OL, Cregg-TE, Drayton-RB and Gonzo-WR....

Man getting Gonzo would be awesome...pulling a major recruiter away from FLA would strike up some sure YAW YAW YAW YAW YAWS FOOTBAW!!
