Practice #4 - Updates

Why is it failure for him not to tell us who HE thinks will be the starting QB? It is likely he has a good idea who it will be. But he wants to put pressure on all of them. Pressure is part of the game but a difficult thing to simulate. Jones seems to be doing it with the QB's.

Timing with the receivers is usually developed over the summer in the 7 on 7's before fall camp starts. His QB's are behind at this stage. No wonder they are having problems with accuracy. It also helps in developing a leadership hierarchy. You have a starter and someone chasing him. That is pressure to keep your job and stay motivated.

Despite my last post, I don't think we should be making assumptions based on motivational coach-speak and edited practice video on youtube. Worley will be fine and he will start. Jones shook up the depth chart all over the place probably just to see how the 1s would react and how the 2s would handle being in the 1 slot for a day or two. Just my guess though.

Butch ain't bald.

Well I was being tongue in cheek but FWIW, neither was that guy known to us as the great snake. You know, the pretty boy who slithered outta here in the middle of the night. He liked visors too. I tell ya they're eeebil!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! There's evil and then there's insidiously dumb and destructive to all that is precious in good in this world. That photo makes little 8 pound 6 ounce baby Jesus cry. :cray:

Maybe...perhaps...a bit of fatigue and soreness has set in...right about the time that the excitement of starting fall camp has given way to the reality that fall camp is hard. Think that might might cause a bit of regression?

But no, it's probably just ineptness of the entire team, coaching staff, and athletic department. Yeah, that's it. Fahr Butch!!

Is it me or did (I know its just 4 mins of throwing) Dobbs look that much better with accuracy vs Worley. I'm rooting for Worley to have a great year but man...Peterman looked better than Worley too.

Competition is great, but I want to see a starter taking atleast 50% of the camp snaps to build continuity with his backs, receivers, and line.

When you're essentially splitting starting reps between 3+ players, the team is not able to build the continuity with the starter, and that causes issues down the road.

Establish a starter, let 2nd and 3rd string fight it out for a true backup position. Let the team rally around the starter, otherwise you have people picking favorites, teammates preferring one QB over another. This causes rifts with a team...

It's happening at Alabama right now, the team prefers one QB, the coaches prefer another, and it's caused a problem in their locker room

good god man, how much pressure was cbj under from the media and everyone else to change qb?.. just sit back and stop your belly aching.:hi:

Still a bad coaching decision and his inability to pick a starter is hurting this team in terms of reps

After watching all those highlights, I seen in INT everytime a reciever had to reach back or turn his body around to make the catch.............NOT GOOD!! I would hope that the coaches would stop practice for a moment and just say "THROW THE DAYUM BALL LIKE YOU GOT A PAIR"
