Practice número dos

Family, I like to know what they are up to from time to time. Could care less if a kid I've never met got in an accident. Glad he's ok, but could care less. Now that it's close to the season, I'm keeping up with it a little more. Go Vols.

Lol

He also reminded Jalen Hurd that he’s not too good to help on special teams as the freshman was going through a punt coverage rep. “Last I checked, both running backs at Alabama started on special teams, Jalen!”

OUCH!!!

Observations from vid yo
Peterman has a nice release
Pearson will have CP like ability
DB's look more aggressive.
Butch Jones Rulz

Anyone catch this gem from Seth Stokes?

Mostly Brett Kendrick and Josh Malone. Both were called out for body language and energy with Coach Jones getting on the loudspeaker for all to here and saying that Kendrick is the first “energy vampire of the season” and that his “fangs are out, sucking the energy away”. Coach Gillespie got on to Malone two different times that I heard about his body language and the second time loudly telling him that his body language sucked.

Not the kind of thing I had hoped for from Malone. Of course, it could be an example of the coaches going out of their way to try to set the tone early with some of these young guys.

Also an interesting note on Drae Bowles, who isn't someone I've heard a lot about.

Now don’t read too much into this because it is practice, but Drae Bowles did a really nice job of catching the ball while the media was watching. I counted no fewer than three really tough, impressive catches.

In those same drills, freshman running back Treyvon Paulk’s surgically repaired knee appeared to be giving him a bit of issue.

One more from that Stokes article. Another tidbit I'd rather not read.

They honestly seem to be going after the highly ranked kids more.

Well, when you have kids who come in and have been praised and handed every award and accolade in the book, it's best to be a little hard on them to kind of humble them a bit. College is not high school, at all. They need to make sure they are held to the standard that they should be.

I want the coaches being hard on everyone. I don't want anyone slacking off.

Somebody photoshop this and put a Bama A on his forehead.

"Take a bite out of the elephant."

And If we actually do take a bite out of the elephant this year, that CBJ quote is going to be one of the most legendary in history.
