Pray for missing Titanic Submersible

"The landing frame and rear cover of the missing Titan submersible have been discovered on the ocean floor, according to experts involved in the search, who say it points to the vessel suffering a 'catastrophic implosion' that will have claimed all five of the lives on board.

The US Coast Guard announced on Twitter that the 'debris field' had been found on Thursday. They are yet to confirm what was found, but Richard Garriott, President of the Explorers' Club, tells DailyMail.com his understanding from the teams involved in the search is that those items were found."

Not confirmed anywhere else from what I'm seeing yet

I had a feeling it was catastrophic failure. This pretty much confirms it. They really should have tested this thing more rigorously and performed a detailed failure modes and effect analysis before putting people on it. It’s just saddening, but they had to have known the risks before stepping aboard.

Considering it was like every 30 minutes, that is odd.
I mean I guess there could have been a problem, like lost power or something, so they started knocking, and eventually the sub failed catastrophically. but that seems kind of... convenient.

Yea you don’t just “rig” something up to go 2 miles underwater.

Wonder if there was a way they could’ve caused it to implode themselves knowing what was coming.

Maybe it was just one malfunction after another.

This is from Not The Bee, which is differnt than their satirical site. Did you bother to read the article, or just comment without doing so? I've attached pictures since that was too difficult...

You know the answer to that question. Amazing how quick people are to comment on something they won’t even take time read.

These people are morons on so many levels. Many of the nice things we have in life are because really rich people pushed boundaries and took risks. Idiots.

The fact that communication ceased abruptly when they were still estimated to not be on the bottom yet (1:45 into a two hour descent). Seems to indicate a catastrophic implosion some distance above the sea floor which resulted in a debris field instead of the wreckage being all in one spot. Any other scenario on the descent would have enabled them to drop external ballast and return passively to the surface for recovery

Sounds like they were gone a while ago. At least it we quick, I suppose. I especially feel for the family of the teenager.

In all seriousness how could it be quick if the sub couldn’t stand the pressure at those depths?

I do agree that the available air estimate was way way off.

Considering the corners this dude cut and the experts he ignored, I'd say sometimes that red tape is actually a good thing.
Not necessarily. Lessons learned and applied to the next iteration far faster and at less expense than a government bureaucracy would ever get it approved..

It's like popping a balloon. 2+ miles of water squeezes really hard. It sounds like there was a supply of oxygen that went unused.
Prayers up for the deceased.
