Suicide attempt

Oh man. I'm sure you and the rest of the family are devastated, but be strong and encouraging while she is recovering. I know that's easier said than done, but she needs that as much as physical healing.

VERY sorry to hear this. I have 2 daughters, and have watched others deal with these type of serious issues...I pray you find the best help possible to show her that this is NOT the answer, and that her life has meaning.

I pray that you get competent help. My daughter had similar problems and we tried to get her help. It didn't work out and I lost her last year.

I've heard that it is common in these cases to blame yourself. DON'T blame yourself. Teenagers' thought processes are sometimes hard to understand.

She is beautiful. I'm sorry about your situation and can't imagine how your family is dealing right now.

I have a 17 year old daughter that I worry constantly about.

You never know what's in the mind of a teenager. Especially when you try to talk to them and they roll their eyes and look at you like your an idiot.

I wish you the best going forward and hopefully her counselor will be able to open up whatever problems she is facing so you all can address it.

Having struggled with depression myself in the past, when depression overwhelms you, you can't think straight. Unfortunately, adolescent depression is on the rise - no one knows why.

Just tell her how much you love her and get her the best medical help you can.

You and your family continue to be in my prayers, especially reading this.

Suicide attempt

Endless hugs to all of you. It's a tough world out there these days for kids. Sometimes even worse for those who look like they have it made. Surround her (and you!) with love, as well as good therapists, and hang in there.

More prayers sent

Suicide attempt

Loss my sister over 30 years ago to this. So glad it looks like she will pull thru. Life is so tough and tough on kids now more than ever. So glad she will get a second chance. I know you are thankful for that. Prayers for you guys in the coming days. I don't know why rainy days have to come, when the storm clouds hide the sun, I want to know why. And though down here we may not understand, I won't let go of his unseen hand. No, because it holds the reasons why.

Don't try to figure it out. Just try to put one foot in front of the other every day after day.

Take Care my friend.

Suicide attempt

Very sorry to hear this. My ex tried this after she and I split. She was undiagnosed at the time but later learned she has bipolar type 2 disorder.

Just a heads up, she won't be going home immediately when she is discharged from the hospital. She'll be taken to a mental health facility to be evaluated.

I hope the session goes well. In-patient facilities can be tough, loss of freedom/privacy, boredom, limited contact with family. Prayers continue to be sent for your daughter and your family.
