I've seen a lot of talk about who will be the starting QB in a number of threads. Let's see what everyone thinks as of now.

We can look at it in one of two different ways.

(1) Dobbs nor Peterman are the answer! Worley has probably maxed out on his growth as a q.b.! So, to prepare for the future, put Ferguson in and let him win the job.

(2) Let Ferguson win the job, but he is underwhelming, so this leaves the door open for Gentry, from N.M. to come win the job as a true freshman. And he will be the future of the team at q.b.

Play Ferguson because Dobbs nor Peterman will play well enough to win the job. Play Ferguson over Worley because Worley is 2014; whereas, Ferguson is likely the distant future of the program at q.b.

Worley will probably start. And with more weapons this year he may be able to hold on to it. After the Peterman experiment, I doubt BJ will have a quick trigger to pull him even after a couple of losses. But I am curious to see how Ferg will compete after being healthy and having a full year in the system.

How exactly do you know for sure that Ferguson will be better than Dobbs? I mean I have been wondering if that may be the case but I've seen no real evidence of this.

What do you know that I don't!? lol

It's hard for me to see Riley come in and beat out all 3 guys ahead of him who have exp. If he comes out of fall camp as our best chance to win games, I'll be ecstatic for the future. As for now I'll stick to Worley until Riley has a chance to work his way up.

These are my thoughts exactly

I am all for whoever gives us the best chance of winning. I honestly do not care which one it is. I really do not see it being Worley though. He just isn't athletic enough for this offence. Also with Ferg and Dobbs gettin a full year in the system under their belts, I think they will have a shot.

I understand that people are skeptical of Ferg because no one has seen him play yet. All we the fans have to go off is what the coaches say and by listening to that he is a smart kid with a strong and accurate arm. I mean one of the factors Malone commited to UT is because the coaches gave him tape of Ferg in passing drills. I would like to see him get a chance because I think we can all agree that regardless of weapons the passing game was lacking and no one seemed to be able to throw an accurate deep ball. With that said I read an article yesterday on how Dobbs has bulked up some and that he and Marquez are inseparable here lately.

Dobbs or Worley. Coaches showed both players film to Malone along with RF. Probably Dobbs. Worley has reached his potential. Dobbs did well against tough teams for a true fr. Had no help at wr. Can also run. It will be one of the two to start the season though.

I'm on the fergie train but if worley or dobbs gets the nod I will fully support either. Spring practice will answer some questions I hope.

Anyone who thinks a qb can't grow from junior to senior year look at Zach mettenberger. Kid after his junior year was a lost cause and look at him now. In that case worley is the man or so I hope

One, cant really judge any of the QBs on last year. It takes about a year and a half for a QB to have a full grasp of the entire offense, and that's if they are playing most all of the snaps.. Even Peyton struggled his first year.
Two, based on the fact that few QBs go the entire season due to injuries, and at Tenn last year, 3 were hurt at one point so Dobbs was thrown to the wolves, and he was banged up himself, I hope that all of them improve. History says we will need them.
Three, very very few True Freshmen are ready to play at that level. HUGE difference in an 18 year old and a 22 year old.
Heres hoping all of the QBs really step up and improve all points of their game..

I voted Worley but I wish I had it back. While I think he'll end up with it I'd like to see Peterman get atleast one vote.
