Fergie's critique from Elite 11 camp.

Trent Dilfer on Riley Ferguson:
“In my opinon (he is) the most intuitive player in the class of 2013. A guy that makes all kinds of plays on-rhythm and off-rhythm. I was impressed when I saw him with his accuracy regardless of his foot-platform. A lot of guys can only be accurate in the first reaction game when their feet are right. Highly, highly productive. You see a guy who intuitively makes great decisions, knows when to extend the play and a guy who is going to light up the SEC at Tennessee.”

Pretty sure Dilfer knows more about QB play and talent than any Negavol here. Hope you Negavols choke...today.

I know we haven't seen one pass or handoff from this kid yet, but I just have a gut feeling this kid will turn into our next Erik Ainge! He has the build and look of a pure pocket passing SEC QB...hell...he even wears number #10! I have high hopes for this kid and truly believe he will be our next star QB leader (Manning, Martin, Clausen, Ainge, etc). WE ARE SO DUE FOR ONE!!

We need a true Dual-Threat QB in this system until then we won't ever reach the potential of the system. Heck the O-line won't be as good at pass blocking next year so I hope he can use his feet.

Not saying Riley isn't good just saying it's going to be a pick your poison type of deal. With Riley you will have a great passer but the run game will suffer because he isn't much of a threat to run. With Dobbs until we see differently the pass game suffers cause he can't throw the ball. I would be surprised to see us go to a two QB system

OP I for one hope you are right. I hoped for Dobbs but that Vandy game made me sick against primarly a entire back up secondary.

Admittedly he wasn't great but did you not hear Butch? He put the 2 INT's on the receivers. He also said Dobbs showed his age at times and rushed things...but the picks weren't on him...nor was Pig's block in the back.

Holding out until we see the off season devleopment, but in my humble opinion, Dobbs should be over the deer in the headlights moment and showing progression by now.

I think that was a are-you-kidding-me-wheres-my-receiver-oh-no-he-fell-down-again-while-the-ball-is-in-the-air-crap-i-shouldnt-be-leading-the-team-in-tackles look.

Erik Ainge set this program back 10 years. I stated that in 2007 and it still remains the same now.

Don't look for things to turn around until after 2015.

I dont think that is the kind of QB we need to run the "Butch gets it offense" but would be nice to have a QB that could constantly put the ball on "our" receivers numbers.

I have to agree with you on this. I honestly believe we will have a two QB system for a while

It's all about the coaching! We need to see significant improvement in 2014 for the money these guys are being paid!

Best time to teach him how to fall....to avoid a broken collarbone. :nono:

Does that include the 2005 meltdown year ,or just the 2007 one everyone remembers so fondly??

Peterman was the future.

Dobbs was the future

Ill believe it when I see it.
