And Ainge was a very efficient QB IMO. I enjoyed having him as a QB. We win 8 games this year with a QB like Ainge.

Dobbs looks promising. I would like Peterman to get another shot. Worley looked to be making great strides before his injury. I'm curious to see what Ferguson can do.

If 1 of those 4 turns out to be above average we will be okay.

He's going to do drugs, act immaturely, get busted for a DUI, and not make it in the NFL? They both have tattoos. I can deal with that one, just hope all the other garbage doesn't follow him.

Ainge had a very good freshman year too.

Yep, he sure did! I was at Sanford stadium in 04 and will never forget the way he avoided the rush, trotted 3 steps forward and launched a beautiful 25 yrd TD pass to Brett Smith in the back of the end zone. I knew right then and there he was going to be a stud.

I know we haven't seen one pass or handoff from this kid yet, but I just have a gut feeling this kid will turn into our next Erik Ainge! He has the build and look of a pure pocket passing SEC QB...hell...he even wears number #10! I have high hopes for this kid and truly believe he will be our next star QB leader (Manning, Martin, Clausen, Ainge, etc). WE ARE SO DUE FOR ONE!!

For our sake--I hope he's more in the likeness of Casey Clausen, Heath Shuler, or Peyton. Ainge is a self-absorbed douche...and a wuss to boot. :salute:

By the title of the thread, I wasn't sure if you meant that as a good thing or a bad thing.

I'll give you his senior year. I like(d) Ainge, I just want(expect) better. He was average, not great.

Ainge was far above average.....the injury really messed him up..addicted to .pain killers and such....but he was a great great true freshman and good after Cut coached him as well.....Worely and Dobbs on the .other hand...they couldn't even sniff average if their .lived depended on it.

Fwiw, I was told by my brother in law who goes to church with a few of the Vol starters. All claimed that Ferguson was the future qb.

Like I said fwiw. He wouldn't just make it up. Just repeating what I heard.

I have heard the same thing from people close to the team. Ferguson is the future.

Some of you can bash Ainge all you want the fact is he was the last successful QB we had in terms of winning percentage and after these past 5 years I would welcome
Ainge 2.0 with open arms. Just my opinion...

This post gives me hope in our future...Dobbs doesn't have it.
