Predictions

Everyone take note, these are the most accurate predictions on the interwebs.

These are the kids we lose that are currently "committed"
Thigpen-obviously
Stokes-he might as well say he has decommitted
Philips-appears that he has dropped us

These are the kids we get:
Greg King
Marlon Brown
Darren Myles
Kendrick Hardy
Marsalis Teague

Take that to the bank and deposit please.

Teague told KNS yesterday he is still committed to Florida. Sounds like shady banking.

The big D is loading up but its like 30/70 class for the D when we need the help on the O side. I hope they can give out a few of them Lexuses to the O linemen and backs:eek:k:

If we can land M. Brown, add him with Rogers and Greene then thats a good set of WR.

Oku (maybe) with Lacy or Hardy is solid.

And if the OLine men turn out ok Id say thats a pretty stout O class.

But thats contingent on a lot of if's, so for the most part I agree with you.

in this day and age Commits mean nothing. im not gonna make predictions with teenagers decisions. too much wishy washy thinking. do i like tennessee or alabama. do i like blondes or brunettes. do i like budweiser or corona? That being said I am hoping for the best!

I see only three OL's one eric's list. That would be very, very bad. Losing Phillips would outweigh the benefit of getting 3 or 4 of those 4* skill players.

There are several contradictions in your argument here and on the main forum where you're actually saying UT can and should win the SEC next year, but I'll just go with this one.
Nope.

You said earlier that Kiffin would have two 4* and a 3* guy to work with at QB, so why are you backtracking on it now by calling them underachievers or just not all that talented to begin with?
I wasn't talking about the QB's. I, apparently in agreement with CLK, don't think that's the biggest talent problem they have or will have. I am talking about guys like Langley, Donald, Brimfield, Sawtelle, and Vinson. Several guys out of that class are already gone due to being JUCO or not working out... In fact: 2 3*, 3 4*, and 1 5* from that class are no longer on the roster and Vinson isn't looking so good to make it to August.
You've also said numerous times that Kiffin and his staff are better than the ole "Hall of Fame" coaches' staff, so why worry about QBs now?
I'm not particularly worried about the QB's.

Let me give you just a couple of examples based on the what guys are now projecting for this class. There are other problem spots as well but DT and OL are probably the worst.

OL 09 depth chart (not arguing about who fits where at this point just listing the names)

OT-Scott SR, Schofield FR
OG- McClendon SR, Bailey So
C- McNeil SR, Pope SO, Revis FR, Anderson RFR
OG- Richard SR, Brimfield SO
OT- Thomas SO, Sawtelle SO

What is left after the 4 seniors are gone? Do you really and truly believe that those guys plus a bunch of Freshmen are going to compete with UF et al for a championship? Do you think those guys can even compete for a winning record?

At DT you have: Williams (SR), Nelson (SR), Thomas (JR), Langley (SO), Hughes (FR), Jeffrey (FR)

Can you honestly look at that and still believe THIS CLASS isn't absolutely critical if Kiffin is to be competitve for the next 3 years?

They barely have enough warm bodies on the OL after this year.

Again, it isn't his fault. This is a great staff. But the reality is they need players NOW.

I have to agree we are very very shaky on both lines. Especially offense where we sucked it up last year anyway.

My Official Pediction.

4*LB Marlon Walls
4*LB DT Shackleford
4*LB Jerod Askew
4*DB Eric Gordon
4*DB Darren Myles
4*WR Marlon Brown
4*WR James Green
4*OL JerQuari Schofield
4*Ath Marsalis Teague
4*RB Kendrick Hardy
3*RB Toney Williams
3*WR Zach Rogers
3*LB Nigel Mitchell-Thorton
3*LB Greg King
3*DB Mike Edwards
3*DT Arthur Jeffrey
3*Ath Nyshier Oliver
3*OL Kevin Revis
3*DE Rae Sykes
3*DT Pearlie Graves
3*DE Jarrett Brown

Possible Suprises= Sam Montgomery or Alshon Jeffrey

Guaranteed Suprise=This class will not turn out as well as most people are hoping for it to.

couldn't have said it better.

I think that the current staff knows what they have to work with and after a new S&C program coupled with new coaching takes effect, we'll be fine.

That's a hell of a class considering it was put together and held together over 2 months or less without a full coaching staff.

A highly ranked class that doesn't include DT's and OL's will only make it worse for CLK when people begin to question the results.

Except it doesn't include Phillips or A Foster... or anyone to replace them. Nor does it include any DT additions. Freshmen and Sophs very seldom compete will on the line in the SEC. Teams that are dependent on them underperform in spite of great skill players. Witness UGA this past season. I tried to tell people they weren't going to win a NC or SEC championship because they were too dependent on young linemen.

We are going to finish second for a lot of guys, but we are going to turn a couple that will make this a very good class.
