Premiere League & World Soccer Thread

Klopp has definitely spoiled me as a fan. I've been following them since the early Brendan Rodgers days.

That said, it's frustrating to see us be world class and neck and neck with Man City the last few seasons and on the cusp of the quad, and then come crashing back down while Man City maintain their excellent play and standards. It seems all mental with the boys at this point, and that's the truly puzzling part of the whole thing.
Look no further than the injury bug, which has been rampant at LFC since last year. Take into consideration the compact schedules due to AFCON last year and World Cup upcoming, and it’s the perfect storm, imho.

Liverpool also needs to track down whomever is injecting cement into TAAs legs and advise them to stop it.

Just reading the tea leaves it seems like Jude is destined for Madrid, unfortunately.

I wouldn’t finalize that just yet. Long time before the summer transfer window and PL teams will do all they can to get him. I get the draw of playing at RM and especially playing with Camavinga and Tchouaméni, but the PL teams will push hard and pull on those “stay home and play in England” heart strings.

Oh I know it isn’t done - never say never in the transfer market. Just talk of his transfer fee going to $150M with way he is performing in CL and with a World Cup year bump - that alone prices out a lot of clubs. Then some news today that apparently RM have been conversing with him for over a year. I believe he was sitting with Zidane and some other RM people at CL final last year as well.

Oh, I’m sure they are rolling out the red carpet and being like “look at my CL trophies, would you like one?” Lol. Let’s just say Perez is one of the cockiest owners out there and all you ever hear is “RM is confident of getting insert players name here…”.
I personally hope Jude pulls an Mbappe on them and leaves Perez with egg on his face once again.

No team in England (except MAYBE Newcastle now) have the money to spend pound for pound with City. Teams will bubble up and possibly be a able to challenge them for a year or two, but nobody is going to maintain their standard for a sustained period IMO.

Obviously we won’t get to see Haaland in the WC this time around because Norway didn’t qualify. I wonder when, if ever, the most dominant player in the world at the time didn’t feature in that year’s WC.

Diego gets subbed off and exits the opposite side of the pitch so he can take a half lap of honor. Lots of love from Chelsea supporters. Chanting Diego! And sung “he’s one of our own” to him 🥺

Man City Lite and Liverpool has been an entertaining match so far.

So, Arsenal and City were supposed to play mid-week next week, but it’s been postponed and Arsenal are instead playing a random Europa League game against PSV on a non-Europa matchweek. Why? Is this something that’s had to be rearranged from the wake of the Queen dying, or is it from sometime later in the fall?

Because of the Queens funeral, police thought it was too much to handle in London so they requested it.
