and it can be argued that Carter's character got Americans endangered, extended their suffering, and killed.

at some point you have to judge character based on the results it brings. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

My take on that is President Carter believed bombing hospitals and schools wasn't a good way to come to peace. Both sides guilty.

Antisemitic and anti Israeli govt are two vastly different things, being anti Biden administration doesn't make you anti American does it?

Except that the “anti zionists” always seem to hate Israeli Jews no matter who the leader is. Doesn’t matter if it is Netanyahu or someone from the left, the hatred knows no end.
So I guess my real question for you would be; is ANY Israeli government acceptable? Or is the mere existence of a Jewish State anathema to you
