President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

You know, I need to find out what my rate has been. Compare that to the rates of different income levels.
Why have different „rates“ at all? The flat tax is an idea whose time has come.
God asks for the same rate from everyone; why can’t the government?

Donald Trump Picks Stephen Miller for Deputy Chief of Staff

President Donald Trump has chosen immigration expert Stephen Miller as his deputy chief of staff, a source close to the president-elect confirmed to Breitbart News.

The choice puts Trump’s promise of pro-American immigration reform at the center of his presidency and may help return the nation to a low-migration. high-tech future.

The claim was first posted by CNN on Monday morning. “President-elect Donald Trump is expected to announce in the coming days that Stephen Miller, his top immigration adviser, will serve as White House deputy chief of staff for policy, two sources familiar with the plans told CNN.”

If appointed, Miller would work as deputy to Trump’s influential and experienced chief of Staff, Susan Wiles.

The appointment would also help repatriation champion Tom Homan in his new job of enforcing Trump’s border and deportation policies on what may be sometimes reluctant agency officials.

The appointment is also a signal that Trump’s appointee to run the Department of Homeland Security will face very strong pressure to vigorously enforce Trump’s immigration reform agenda.

Trump’s team did not confirm the news report, CNN acknowledged, quoting his spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt: “President-elect Trump will begin making decisions on who will serve in his second administration soon. Those decisions will be announced when they are made.”

Trump Picks Lee Zeldin To Lead EPA — Adding Second NYer To Cabinet

WASHINGTON — President-elect Donald Trump has selected former Rep. Lee Zeldin to serve as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, The Post can exclusively report.

Zeldin, 44, served four terms as a Republican congressman repping Long Island before losing the 2022 New York governor’s race to Kathy Hochul by a surprisingly close margin.

Why not? The executive branch is given very broad powers when it comes to the border and security, and the 14th hasn't really been tested on this matter (re: illegal immigrants). Logically it's hard to say extending American rights to whoever wants them, actual citizen or not, is sensible or the intent of the Constitution in any way.

In the end you can't say he doesn't have the power to do it when nobody has actually tried or debated it out in an actual legal way.
Wasn't it intended to address slaves being denied citizenship by the democrat slave states after the civil war?

Same rate, no deductions? Including corporations?

Never pass. But if it makes millionaires and billionaires ACTUALLY pay the same rate that their secretaries do, it might be worth talking about. But this would have to include unrealized gains used for some income producing purpose. So for example if you pledge a billion dollars' worth of stock in ACME as collateral to buy a billion dollars' worth of stock in ABC, you pay that same rate on any gain which has occurred in ACME.

Example:

I buy $100 million of ACME and it does well, and five years later its worth $1 billion, which I use to buy $1 billion in ABC. Let's say the rate you end up on is 10 %.

I pay tax on 10% of $900 million.

So would the same apply if I pledge the equity in my house to purchase another piece of property?

Home equity is typically not taxed below certain fairly high thresholds, i.e. $500,000 of equity (not the sale price, but equity), so probably not. But if it exceeded that, then yes. Effectively cashing in that equity would trigger income tax on it.

So you're not in favor of a single flat rate for everyone? And closing all "loopholes"?

ABC news sucks. Well, most news outlets do, but good grief. So, according to abc, after years of giving illegal aliens/Ukraine money, $88 billion is a huge amount for deportations. I don't remember anyone on the news crying about the cost of importations. Then in the same 4 minute clip, "the Biden admin is going to send as much aid as possible to Ukraine". Stop laundering money through Ukraine. It's past obvious what happened under Biden and Obama.

Don't look over at Hunter Biden and his Ukraine ties but Elon Musk has conflicts of interest with the USA. 😱

Pathetic journalism
