Is it me or do Dems wanna throw down?
You can. Just about every street corner has homeless of all races looking for help. Bonus if they have a dog. You don’t need USAID to help feed starving people.I pay taxes same as you or maybe you. And yes I would rather feed starving people than bomb them. USAID garnished a lot of good will to America. We are hated in the mideast because we have caused the death and injury of so many children and other innocents.
Debt?
Anybody on the R side of the aisle going to even pretend it matters ? Or is that no longer an issue now that the elections are over?
What's so wrong with the idea of people not having kids if they cannot afford them? Since when is it my responsibility to feed someone's else kid? Whatever happen to personal responsibility?I agree, those underfed kids had no business allowing themselves to be born. They should have stayed inside the womb
85% of social security payments being taxed for some is blatantly unfair.
I can get behind 50% being taxable since your employer (or yourself if self employed) got a deduction for it originally. But the limit should be 50%, not 85%.
**** that. It’s should be 100% tax free. The government forces you to pay into it, mismanages it, then acts like they are doing you a favor when they return a portion of what they took.
Gotta cut the spending in line before we cut taxes like crazy. Cant keep running 1-2 T annual operating deficits.
Index (for inflation) the SS taxable limit, increase standard deduction in lieu of getting rid of blatant preferences like SALT, and 80-90% wont pay taxes on SS. And the other 10-20% will pay far less than they are now.
The Communist anti-American hate filled Democrats are calling for violence.
How embarrassing is it to belong to such a hate group who hates their country?
I was wondering how long before they were wanting to call for the burning it down.
They can't get their way anymore so now its the call to violence as usual.
I missed that caveat when you said you could get behind reducing the rate from 85 to 50. I got the sense you were appealing to what would be more fair - not what could be paid for.
Fairness to me is not taxing SS. The tax is all the interest and compounding I missed out on because of Uncle Sam.
50% is probably the "fairest" rate; however, your logic for 0% is extremely reasonable. I'd be far more for this than no taxes on tip/overtime for the reasons you mentioned.
50% should be the absolute maximum that gets taxed. I'd love to get it lower but if that's not possible, you get partially there via indexing for inflation and using savings from getting rid of blatant preferences like SALT to pay for bigger standard deduction for everyone.
