President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Help me understand how I’m getting a social security deduction when I pay 15% self employment tax?

Yes, you do pay 15.3% (most cases) self employment tax. You do get a deduction
for half of your self employment tax to reduce your taxable income on page 1, line 10.

You should be able to see this deduction on Schedule SE and Schedule 1, Line 15.

Do you not know that greasing the palms of some folks in 3rd world countries is business as usual and you don’t do business there without it? Glad we don’t stand for it doing business in the US, but we’re not the world’s government.
now complain about USAID greasing palms to do business and how Trump should shut that down.

oh yeah I forgot, yall are only behind stopping the corruption that Trump wants to stop, but fine with the corruption that Trump wants to allow. how principled of you all.

corruption/bribery is only bad when one group does it?
corruption/bribery is only bad when the government does it?
corruption/bribery is only bad when its done here in the US?

I am going to need you to explain how one is acceptable while the other one isn't.

or are you just naively assuming that none of that corruption and bribery that leaves the country will ever come back. you know just completely ignoring the Biden history, and USAID?

Yeah I am sure that is it. there is no way American companies paying off Ukrainian businesses are ever going to end up as kick backs to American politicians. you are so right hog, adding another middle man to the corruption and bribery thread will keep our politicians nose clean.

Oh fun, we're going to play Luther games. Ok, on the continuum

1. US government corruption and bribery is abhorrent because that is our tax dollars.
2. See #1 because it involves US officials (our tax dollars) taking bribes from foreign parties
3. See #2 but taking bribes from domestic parties
Way the F on down the continuum of bad is US companies bribing foreign officials. It's not my tax dollars nor is it involving US officials who are paid with our tax dollars.

It's always been and will continue to be illegal for US officials to take bribes/kickbacks from foreign or domestic parties. Geesh you sure got that g-string in a bind making dumbazz arguments.

I think for the continuum to be applied correctly, we need to see the words "horrendously despicable" somewhere.

right right right. I am sure none of the companies dealing with overseas officials receive any form of tax dollars. No government contracts, no government subsidies.

so in your mind its fine when the government taxes you, then the government spends your dollars, and then the company they spent it on end up going to bribery. but its not ok when your dollars are taxed and the government spends it on bribery. like I said you just wanted a middle man to make that bribery a little more acceptable. makes perfect sense.

sounds like your issue is with taxes, and not the bribery.

If you are trying to clean up anything you can't carve out areas where that thing you are trying to clean up is acceptable.
