Very nice. So you didn’t do what the previous owner(s) did. Minor-major adjustment/reports/staff changes/philosophy/looking at the books and so on. Companies profit easily when they can figure out where the waste is. But congratulations to you, I’m always happy for capitalism.
No it's a terrible way to run a business.
Sometimes you have to get your employees attention. I’ve used a similar tactic and it worked great, it’s not sustainable in the long term but works in the short run. When an employee has ti put in writing what they actually did all week they start thinking about what did they actually do.
This is more of a sense of urgency to help the process. Most large companies/corporations have some sort of self accountability system in place to be able to monitor what an employee is doing on a day-to-day basis. Those that are on projects or overseeing projects this should be a simple task.Know how I didn't do it? Lazily.
This is a lazy approach. It's okay to say that your guy isn't doing something right. Hell, it's respectable as ****.
If you were running a large business, do you genuinely believe sending out an email like that would improve the following:
1. The accuracy of their response
2. The morale of macro-sectors
Lastly, 3. The quality of their work

Still a difference (especially for me)
The hockey team was the best of our best. People's issues were with the head of the country and not the players on the team.
For the USWNT, for some it was the politics of the players that made them unlikable. I see your point there (still a difference bw POTUS and players but I see your point). For me, it was blatantly passing over more talented players for political reasons. That is an unAmerican ideal for me. I was against placing a token unqualified white guy on mens basketball tean that was a team cancer so Im consistent here.
If LeBron played for US basketball team this year, Id root for the team. If he strongarmed Bronny onto the team over better players, I wouldnt be disappointed if they lost....
To each their own. It works as an attention grabber.
It cannot work in an organization as big as the federal government unless it’s filtered through the different management levels.
Dinkin would be first to be fired as he doesn't know or care to follow instructions. That is the whole purpose of what they are doing.... see who follows directions and who doesn't. Dinkin is so smart and wouldn't follow directions....he would be targeted for termination.
My guess you would take the bait, you already did. Its bait. They would send you home and tell you how smart you are as you go out the door.I've been fired twice in my 25 years of working. Once by my dad when I was 13 because I faked a flu to get out of hardscaping a 9% grade lot. Again when I was 27 because I slept with my boss's girlfriend... 2 years before I worked for saud boss.

Half of what they do is offer bait, and people keep going for it. But you keep thinking how smart you are, I agree.
