President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

I guess I can see that. But it's not like he's subverting the process.

My point (and amazement) is the popularity that Trump has right now. If the people are with him, I'm not sure how much we can complain that he has so much 'power'. I mean, as I mentioned, that's part of watching a democracy at work. It's why the Republicans are garnering so much (should we use the word?) sway right now. Trump seems to have plugged the party into the will of the 'people'. If he hadn't, he his endorsement would be useless, or worse than useless--detrimental.
Trump has turned my state from purple to solid red. He's done the same for Florida. I'm glad for that

I guess the republicans have completely forgotten about that whole Republic thing that we are.

its been the constant refrain from Rs for decades. no to mob rule. we aren't a democracy, we are a republic. the Constitution and the laws matter more than what the mob wants.

1. It's not asking for an "essay". It's asking for 5 bullet points.
2. I'm on record that the threats, if on a short turnaround, are silly and won't hold up.
3. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I think it's silly and hypocritical to believe that the gov't should act like a corporate employer, while claiming that it shouldn't be treated like a corporate employer.
4. Good. If the gov't shuts down, it limits the number of problems that it can create, just so it can grow to "fix" them. If gov't shutdown is a buffet, I'm going back for seconds and thirds.
If a supervisor cant answer that question then maybe he should be forced to resign vs the 100 under him.
One Example would be for an employee
Called and spoke with Xxxxx Department joe numerous times see conversation log report and email exchange.

Huh? How does a political endorsement equal mob rule?

I would like to think I've never been a jerk in those arguments but if I ever am, by all means, call me out. I like to keep my political discussions factual and not personal

At the end of the day we're all Big Orange fans here and that's really all that matters... 😊
I’m probably not the person to worry about whether you’ve been a jerk to me or whether I think you’re a jerk (but fwiw, I don’t remember you being a jerk).

I thought I'd added in one of my posts about not abusing the 'power'. I'm not sure that endorsements are unconstitutional, so it doesn't seem to be worrisome context for this conversation. Again, endorsements are a popularity contest. If Trump didn't have at least the appearance of the will of the people, his endorsements would be either useless or harmful.

Agreed. They are testing the whole apple, at every level, for worms. (Except, I would take out the "vs". It could be the manager AND the 100 under them.)

To be honest I haven't picked a horse to ride yet. I'm stating a fact when I say that Trump has chosen our last 2 Senators and he will choose our next one, as well as our Governor. I've never known a President to wield so much power. It's kind of amazing
Another way of saying the bolded (at least for me) is:
"I've never known a people willingly yield so much power to a president. It's kind of amazing."

The power given by the People to the President either Constitutional or statutorily hasn't changed since the Orange man took office.

Tax revenue should be the mechanism to pay for the services (defense) provided by federal govt.

It should not be used to effecttuate partisan policy...

Bingo. Democrats and Republicans have been guilty of doing this. Adding hundreds of thousands of government jobs in order to deepen the bureaucracy doesn't mean the American taxpayer should be on the hook for the remainder of history when a leader steps up that has the stones to do something about the rip off.

Still debateable whether Trump is that guy. Want to see action, not words (words that are clearly contradicted by actions of his proxies) with the biggest budget items....

I'll re-post Sea Ray's example:
"I'm stating a fact when I say that Trump has chosen our last 2 Senators and he will choose our next one, as well as our Governor."
That wasn't a fact. It was hyperbole.

Hyperbole aside, there were endorsements, and then there were elections.

I'm curious what your examples would be of voters ceding power to this president like never before.

Another way of saying the bolded (at least for me) is:
"I've never known a people willingly yield so much power to a president. It's kind of amazing."

And as has been mentioned, you were in a coma through Covid?

Except that's factually incorrect

The Presidential position has no such power, nor does Trump. Did you say you were some type of teacher or something?

Facts get blurry with Luther. To him, they are by definition relative.
lol....
I just quoted exactly what Sea Ray posted.

How interesting that not a single person responded to his words when he posted them.....
but when I post his exact same words. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Incorrect. I had two pages going around with him on this subject.

So, is this your white flag that you doubled down on the wrong molehill?

"I've never known a people willingly yield so much power to a president. It's kind of amazing."

Looks like he was called out on it already. To be honest, I didn't see his comments back there.

See the bolded in Sea Ray's post. That is what I directly quoted.
