President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

It comes off, the way it reads, that is "alright" to beat women that are your wife. It isn't good to assault women whether they are your wife or not.

You literally must be the editor for Yahoo! News because you are in the middle of a meltdown.

I used to think you were a serious poster.
I will concede that it might read that way to a moron who thinks somebody making fun of them is a meltdown.

I wouldn’t know.

To non-morons, it doesn’t read that way. 🤷🏻‍♂️

they, anyone, shouldn't be expressing their faith in a government meeting. you continue to ignore what I am saying and just create a lie to justify Trump to yourself.

if Trump, or any politician, wants to go to a church for service, or wants to hold a prayer session, I don't have a problem with it. I do have a problem with a politician going into a church to give a political speech. I do have a problem with Politicians using prayer as a way to advance their image, as well as the "righteousness" of whatever they come up with.

Trump: we have determined that we are going to keep on supporting war, do nothing to minimize suffering, and ensure that American businesses can bribe their way into contracts. But we had a prayer session, some have said the best prayer session ever. they are saying everywhere that Trump knows Jesus! and I do!

LouderVol: Hmm seems suspect.

InVOL: you can't question it! you just hate Trump! Your neighbor listens to music in his yard, and this is the exact same thing.
Who are we to judge what is in the hearts of others.

Louder - answer my simple questions.

According to police reports obtained by News4, the alleged victim called police herself and showed a responding officer “bruises on her arm which appeared fresh” and claimed that “(Her significant other for over a year) grabbed her, shoved her, and pushed her out of the door.”

Another report indicates that the victim “let officers hear Subject 1 [now identified by MPD as Mills] instruct her to lie about the origin of her bruises … Eventually, Subject 1 made contact with police and admitted that the situation escalated from verbal to physical, but it was severe enough to create bruising.”

When police arrived at the hotel lobby next door to where the assault allegedly took place, they were “able to immediately identify [the alleged victim] out of all other patrons in the lobby by her demeanor: physically shaking and scared.”

According to police, the woman recanted her statements after the responding officer told the subject that he would be placed under arrest. A second version of the police report obtained by News4 said that police responded to a family disturbance and that there was no cause for arrest. Yet a third version of the police report indicated that police responded to an assault and that it was under investigation.

So she called police saying she was assaulted, she was bruised and emotional, police supposedly heard him tell her to lie about the bruises, he admitted to a physical altercation, she recanted when he was about to be arrested, and now they both say nothing happened.

Sounds like a run of the mill domestic assault situation.

well "we" elected them. they represent us. its our job to question them. and as I pointed out before Matthew 6 has something to say about this if you trying to pull the religion card. maybe address that chapter before you get self righteous about the suddenly religious politicians in DC.

If people just wanted more prayer, I would suggested finding a church that better fit their beliefs.

if people want virtue signalling with people in African garb, I suggest finding a cause that gives or celebrates it directly.

I want a better government, not politicians who push their beliefs, real or fake, during government duties. anything that isn't getting our nation in a better place needs to be ended, or changed.

VP Vance just gave an emotional speech at the Catholic Prayer breakfast. His key point was recognizing the most important thing that happened to his family in November of 2024 was the baptism of his son into the Christian faith.

Great remarks/speech!! A true man of faith.

Lol, JD Vance's entire persona, including his recently found affinity for catholicism, is entirely manufactured for political appeal.

Or you could just laugh about the mistake and move on like most human beings would do if someone picked fun of a news article. Instead, you have a meltdown.

I read more than I post on here. For a long time, you have been a pretty level-headed poster, but the last few weeks, I have noticed a lot of meltdown posts from you. Perhaps take a break from these forums (and the media) for a spell and get out and do something fun.

I do think you tend to be a zealot, like most of us, for your side of the aisle. You will morph your position to defend your side even when they are wrong (we can all be guilty of that). In reality, neither the Democrats or Republicans really deserve the fighting we do for their side. The media articles people are posting don't "prove" anything because they are either slanted one way or the other. Even the "data" is questionable now.

I agree that this guy the article is about sounds like trash assaulting a woman and a lot of Republicans (or Politicians in general) are trash. Sadly, the United States as a society tends to not reward people for being a "good" person or doing the right thing. So many wealthy and powerful people get there by doing the "bad" things. It is one of the flaws of modern Capitalism. Churchill said "Democracy is the worse form of government besides all others". We have a flawed system but it is very difficult to find a better system.

Just yesterday, while driving home, I waited at an intersection for a family with a stroller to cross a crosswalk. A sad person drove their car around me into the coming lane after honking and cross through the intersection very close to that family (I wish a police officer had been present to see it). Just shows you the kind of people we have today.

And that is what took place in November.

It doesn't come off that way at all. The only way to get that meaning is to try and twist it.

Psst, wanna buy a nice bridge?

Sadly, a lot of politicians use Faith for gain. It remembers me of the following passage, specifically the bolded part:

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Sadly, people can manipulate God's words to their advantage here on earth and argue it away. It can be hidden from other people but it will come out when you stand before God at judgment. I think this is what Jesus was describing with the Pharisees who looked good on the outside but didn't have the right heart.

I do feel like American Christianity struggles with two extremes. One extreme plays to much into the "God is love" mentality and doesn't take on obligation to actual repent and follow God's commandments while the other extreme comes off judgmental like the Pharisees.

Yes, very common for the victim in such situations to recant, especially when they realize the implications of what they have reported.

I think it's more actions that we are judging. And you can't help but view the heart through the prism of actions.
Biden broke the tradition of attending the prayer breakfast and the Catholic sponsed presidential roast right before the election. The Trump administration has shown more in the last week than Biden did in the last year.

I too, am judging by actions.
