The problem is that the Federal Tax Code is not for engineering social outcomes.
It’s for funding the Federal Government.

You’ve come to the wrong shop if you’re looking for a defense of subsidies.

We do not have a Revenue problem. Far from it.
We have an out of control Spending problem.

The federal tax code's for what our elected representatives make it to be. Like other government functions it can serve multiple purposes. Government should work for the good of the people. A progressive income tax schedule, if we must have income tax, is generally accepted as being for the good of the people.
