President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

He was completely fine with democracy being turned upside down by a presidential candidate being installed because of polls. He’s such a joke. He has no shame. He just hates Trump and whatever it takes to stop Trump is a righteous act in his warped little brain. Clearly a dangerous position to take.
It’s a shtick he’s trying to keep up.

"Year zero" is a joke which goes back to the Dooley and Butch years.

I hate it for others but recession is great for me.
Not sure what was more ridiculous.

Dooley and his Year Zero nonsense. Or Butch and his crazy statistics he used as excuses before the game even started.

“Well ya know @McDad, we were talking earlier how this is the 1st time 61 of our players had ever been to the state of Florida. 51.8% of our Freshman have never been on a plane. This will be the first time as a team that we’ve played a game with winds from the East forecasted to blow more than 12 MPH. And 3 of our coaches have never seen the movie Jaws. So we got a lot to overcome before Kickoff”.

Good Lord! So glad that’s over.

Respect your position…..why did it work so well under Trump’s first term? Tariff‘s were a centerpiece of his strong economy.

Did it work so well?

Per AP:

A looming return of EU tariffs — at an even higher rate — on American whiskeys would be devastating to distillers, said Chris Swonger, president and CEO of the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States.

“The U.S. spirits industry is contending with a challenging U.S. marketplace, and tariffs would only exacerbate these challenges,” Swonger said Tuesday.

The EU is set to reinstate tariffs on American whiskey at a 50% rate in late March if nothing is done to head it off, the Kentucky Distillers’ Association said. Retaliatory tariffs from the EU and other countries have cost Kentucky’s bourbon industry a half-billion dollars in exports since 2018, it said.

Has anyone here considered, per the student's apparent deportation, that they have proof that he engaged in public speech that isn't protected?

Any chance that he went beyond merely sharing an opinion about the Palestinian war, and into an area where he created an offensive and/or intimidating environment that substantially interfered with Jews feeling like they can safely get an education on campus?

Get him out of here and let that be a lesson to other non citizens trying to undermine the policy positions of the US government and cause chaos and a violent uprising. It's my understanding that he is not even a Columbia U student.

That neonazi protest in Germany would be illegal. What crime has the candidate deportee committed here?
He's likely made himself deportable under our immigrations laws:

is deportable.

(B) Terrorist activities

(II) a consular officer, the Attorney General, or the Secretary of Homeland Security knows, or has reasonable ground to believe, is engaged in or is likely to engage after entry in any terrorist activity (as defined in clause (iv));

(III) has, under circumstances indicating an intention to cause death or serious bodily harm, incited terrorist activity;

Hamas has been officially designated as a foreign terrorist organization. From what I can gather, the group that this guy has acted as a spokesperson for, and for whom he has led rallies/protests for, has been handing out pamphlets with Hamas logos on them. If so, he's probably gone.

If the intimidation of the Jewish students can be proven, and if the damage to the campus can be proven/attributed, it can likely be interpreted as terrorist activities, and another reason to deport.

There seems to be great leeway for the Attorney General and/or Sec or Homeland Security to deport based on their beliefs per the above.

Sure....but it was a prominent plank it the bannon/stone/manafort/trump campaign in 2016.
It was one of Stone's basic rules.
Goebbels would have certainly admired how well trump used his techniques.

Name the most controversial lie that was repeated over and over with proper sourcing during the Trump Administration.

So $500M over 7 years is a little over $70M per year. Got it.

I'm on record stating that I don't know whether he will/should be deported or not.

As I understand it, immigration courts aren't generally public record, so we may never know one way or another, even if he is deported.

But again... If he is deported, I suspect it's likely under the above immigration statutes.

Just interviewed on TV - Steve Leonard (Steve’s retailer in the Northeast) used imported wine and Champaign to explain Tariffs. He indicated 2 things…..most distributors were prepared for this and have stocked up to 6 months in preparation for the tariffs. Secondly he indicated consumers will change and move to products made in the US. He is telling his customers to just relax and this will all work out shortly. He is not concerned.

He was also quick to point out eggs and other products are coming down in price which is something many are not talking about.

I can cut/paste from Google to debate you as well…..give it time. At least we have someone in the office that truly cares for the country and is trying to make things better.

Bash away lefties….I said it.

From some law professors, even one critical one, it doesn't sound like the gov't is doing anything illegal.

In addition, Gabriel J. Chin, a professor and immigration law scholar at the University of California, Davis, wrote for The Conversation, “U.S. law also provides that any non-citizen can be deported if the secretary of state and the attorney general jointly determine that the person is associated with terrorism, or poses a threat to the U.S.

Khalil’s supporters point out that he has not been charged with any crime. But that’s not necessary to deport a green-card holder. There just has to be “reasonable grounds to believe they engaged in, or are likely to engage in, terrorist activities,” according to CBS News.

There seems to be little argument that he's led protests for, and acted as spokesperson for, a group whose defined goal is the destruction of democracy and Western Civilization? That seems to me a reasonable worry that he may pose a threat to the US--seeing as they define themselves as a threat to the US.

He doesn't need to be charged with a crime to be deported.

As Steve Vladeck, a professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center, wrote in his “One First” newsletter...

“To spoil the punchline, although what the government has done to this point is profoundly disturbing, and is, in my view, unconstitutional retaliation for First Amendment-protected speech, I’m not sure it is as clearly unlawful as a lot of folks online have suggested. And that’s a pretty big problem all by itself.”

Sounds like it's likely legal, even if some people don't like it?

I’m beyond sick of this issue.
The real problem is the absolute impossibility of coming here legally. Neither party is interested in solving the actual problem. That might take away a solid campaign issue

Agree with you there. The asylum process is slow, inconsistent, and unwieldy. Let companies that need cheap unskilled labor open up spots and immigrants apply to fill them. Do a background check and if ok let them in on temporary basis, pay taxes, opportunity to solidify position as a citizen down the road.

I am okay for a while too. I can always go with California Riesling instead of German. And I think I can also get Californian Gewürtztraminer

Question. Do you keep up with Gators baseball as well? Just curious. That and our victory last night is even sweeter knowing that it pissed you off. 😉

Pure BS. Major retailers are already gearing up to increase prices. Tariffs are nothing more than taxes.
