President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

I haven't seen the kicked down the door bit. they may have just knocked and he opened the door. sounds like he didn't fight them. but the lack of warrant was claimed by his lawyer, and no one at the fed level has provided one to date to the lawyer even after requests were made.
If they went to his residence and pulled him out of there without a warrant then it’s crap.

Not gonna believe some lawyer’s word on it. A warrant would have to be filed? Is that not something that can be searched? Idk.

Are you Japanese? Our system here is presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
The justice system does. Which is why I said we need to wait for the facts before judging it's actions via assumptions about what they did.

We don't really know the facts of the case, thus whether his rights were violated, yet lots of people are claiming they were, based on assumptions of his innocence and the process.

everything I have read said he was arrested at his house. everything I have read has said the agents didn't give a reason for the arrest, nor did they have a warrant.

I saw someone claim the feds have 7 days to officially charge, but everything I have seen is 72hrs with a warrant, 48 without. its been more than 48 already, depending on the exact time he was arrested Saturday its approaching that 72 hours.

the first day in court is tomorrow, but it still stinks to high heaven that we don't know more by now, and judges have already stepped in to stop some of Trump's admin's plans to deport this guy.

as I keep saying, if it was someone yall aligned with you would be outraged. but because its an "other" you just shrug. some consistency would be nice.
I have not questioned what you have read. Sounds like you haven't questioned the veracity of what you have read. Thus my post about the assumptions being made.

the amount of trust I inherently have for any given entity is inversely related to how much power they have over me.

meaning the federal government starts at 0, and they have yet to do anything to justify more than that.

so even the assumptions of a slime ball lawyer I will take over their assumptions. especially when it comes to our rights.

I'm mostly here for the moment at least. Unless they have some kind of Wheel of Fortune spinner with names on it and give it a whirl to choose people then this individual has done "something" very particular bring about the arrest. If those are justifiable then so be it.

Now having said the above IF it turns out the procedures followed in the arrest weren't legitimate then I'm wholeheartedly down with those responsible taking heat.
Why can't more people understand this? We can be outraged when we actually KNOW what happened, as opposed to claims made by people/media with likely dogs in the fight.

I believe most said to submit a standalone bill and it would be passed. Dems just couldn't bring themselves to do it
The border security bill, S.4361, received fewer votes Thursday as a standalone bill than it had as part of the larger foreign aid package in February (2024), when it failed on a 49-50 procedural vote. Sixty votes are needed to advance bills in the Senate.

Or maybe trump told repubs to reject all border security bills leading up to the election.

Nah - he wouldn't do that.

You continue to mischaracterize this as a border bill. It was a war funding bill (>80%) with some border stuff thrown in. It was thankfully defeated

Or stated another way, "only democrats are willing to step across the isle in order to strengthen border security."
Democrats did nothing but willfully and intentionally weaken border security for four years. Maybe they figured out they f’d up after the 2024 election and better get some common sense?

Got another live one here...

You have no idea why DOJ sent ICE to get this specific guy. Whose CUAD group has been at the basis of violent demonstration, property damage, intimidation and assault of Jewish students at Columbia. He's a mouthpiece for the Hamas-run Quds News Network. We damn well should investigate everyone with, at minimum these affiliations, and being an agitator for these types of actions. Biden's DOJ should have been on Columbia's campus; that is now being done. DOJ task force to visit Columbia, other colleges to investigate allegations of antisemitism

You're a perpetual hysteric here. If it's not cutting pediatric cancer research, it's cutting VA funding, or cutting Medi. People like you subsist on being wrenched back and forth by the intellectually devoid in your party, movement, or whatever you term the sad thing it has become. Whatever that is, it's not much concerned with being American, or constitutional; see Election 2024.
It's not hysterics to point out things that are actively happening.
You don't *like* to hear that your guys are doing bad stuff.

It's also not illegal to be an antisemite. Deplorable...but protected speech. It's not illegal to be a mouthpiece. Don't agree with his views, but...free speech.

Trump was clear as to why this guy was arrested.

Again, I don't agree with the guy, but we can't arrest and deport people because we don't like what they say. Unless the government has a compelling argument beyond what Trump (the government) has said...they're simply trying to deport him for not being nice to Israel.

When we talk about weaponizing government, this is it. It should not be partisan to be concerned about the government trying to silence free speech.

Are you sure about that, have you reviewed 8 U.S.C. 1227?
