President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

It goes along with the poll from the other day that the majority of those on the left would leave the country rather than fight for it if it was being invaded.

It just furthers the left's narrative of the founding fathers are racist, the Declaration of Independence is racist.
Uhhh, after the last two years, is the republic worth saving?

I guess we could bow down to St. Vladimir like you.

While I disagree with the way Ras often characterizes Putin, he makes some very valid points that are worth considering.

I know we both agree that what Putin has done to his neighbor is terrible and is an unacceptable counter response. But how we got here is not as simple as most people like to make it. NATO along with the United States lit the match that started this inferno decades ago. And once Putin ascended to power, we knew exactly who we were dealing with, yet we didn’t stop the agitation in the region.

Ras is correct on many of the points he makes. If you put yourself in Putin’s shoes, his response is rational. He feels like he is doing what he must to protect the long term interests of Russia. To Russia, there is a clear and immediate threat sitting on their doorstep. We might feel the same if we were talking about Canada or Mexico.

Everyone should also heed Ras’s warnings about propaganda. There’s a lot of it out there right now. Personally, I have a lot of mistrust anytime I see the US government, the traditional media, and big tech lining up hand in hand on any given issue. The US government can no longer be trusted; the media is their mouthpiece; and big tech is their new PR arm that helps shape public opinion. Be wary of what you hear and how you allow it shape your opinion.

These things can be true, and you can still think Putin is a POS.

Saudi's won't even talk to the Biden administration about oil.

The Russians are mediators for the bizarre crack pot Iranian deal. How crazy is that?

China is playing games in this Ukrainian/Russian conflict because they think they can.
We are pushing Eurasian countries closer together and further away from the West... at our own detriment.

Ras will not condemn any action Putin takes. The US and NATO have not been perfect, but in no way does that justify invading Ukraine.

That’s easy to say from over in the United States, but if you’re in Russia and think one of your border countries is about to become a puppet of one of your enemies, you might think a little differently. This Russia / Ukraine conflict has been a long time coming.

Saying that the US and NATO have not been perfect is an understatement. We have knowingly been agitating what should have been a longer term peace post Cold War. The logical outcome of moving to add the Ukraine was known in advance…and here we are.

Invading sovereign nations is cool.

Invading sovereign nations is cool.

Perhaps it makes you feel good to say that, but the reality on the ground is, if you agitate enough you might get a response.

Preaching about how bad Putin is makes for good social media, but I think it’s wise to understand a bit more how we got here.
