Got to thinking...with lead-times so long on so many things, say 24-52 weeks. How does a company anticipate sell pricing on todays orders and products that can be built in a matter of days, but will not ship for such a long time? JIT metrics I would think figure into pricing, but that has been demolished. IOW, how can a company anticipate what the price is for say a commodity, say iron ore for steel that is used in a part, that is not even out of the ground.
Almost like we are in some perpetual guesstimate inflation on top of the current supply and demand inflation.
