Republicans slam Biden admin for 'deeply troubling' possibility VA docs could go to Border for Expected Surge

Massive migrant surge expected when Title 42 ends in late May

More than 50 House Republicans Wednesday are pressing Customs and Border Protection (CBP) over the possibility it may use Veterans Affairs (VA) medical personnel to stem an expected migrant border surge.

The letter comes a little over a month before the May 23 end date for the Title 42 policy — a Trump-era public health order that allows for the expulsion of most migrants entering the U.S. because of COVID-19.

After President Biden announced earlier this month he would end the order, fears grew over a potential surge of migrants to the southern border as a result. Fox News reported shortly before Biden's announcement that CBP was considering the idea to have VA personnel assist in taking care of the migrants.

Not to hinder trade

Agreed if that's the purpose; but if the purpose is to stop smuggling, is that hindering legal trade? Trucks coming from Mexico could be carrying legal merchandise, drugs, humans (perhaps kidnapped girls), weapons, chemicals and other components to build bombs, or any combination of the above. Our borders are porous, and the feds aren't committed to fixing it.

I’m guessing they wait to throw this Hail Mary in late summer.

https://thehill.com/news/senate/326...-to-cancelling-student-debt-than-ever-before/

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) told activists on Wednesday that President Biden and his senior advisers are warming up to the idea of forgiving student debt, insisting they are closer to pulling the trigger “than ever before.”
Schumer, who has repeatedly called for canceling up to $50,000 in student debt per borrower, predicted that’s where the president and his administration will ultimately land.

And republicans will have to eat the schiff sandwich or be the bad guys facing an election. This is the kind of thing that should be covered in legislation like the Hatch Act.

The 1939 Act forbids the intimidation or bribery of voters and restricts political campaign activities by federal employees. It prohibits using any public funds designated for relief or public works for electoral purposes

Congress should be classified as "federal employees" - pay, health insurance, retirement, work space. Attempting to induce votes by offering bribes (or get out of debt) is bribery.

This flooding of Latin American immigrants by liberals is not going to work out the way they are planning. I've been saying this since the exit polling came out for 2020 election. Even blacks in the Democratic Party were commenting on the exit polling data and looking at the numbers. The GOP has plenty of time to botch this up, but right now, if we had fair and honest elections, the Democrats get smoked in November.

VNPF Quiz:

Who knows Puddinheads middle name?
No cheating
Edit: that is freaky as I just saw ELs post in other thread

The fact that 76% of democrats approve of this S for brains mooncalf speaks volumes. How stupid do you have to be to approve of his abject failures and idiocy?
Biden's approval craters at 33% | Daily Mail Online
It isn't stupidity. It is blind rage against the former president. Look at our very own loother. He approves of all of this for that very reason. The damage being cause is acceptable collateral damage because it rid us of Trump. He is not alone.

How can there possibly be 33% that still approve of what Puddinhead is doing????

Prove me wrong.

Just a year ago we could fill all of our entry level trainee positions for $15-$17 an hour starting. Today just raised the starting pay to $22-$25 hr and this is for someone with no CDL or experience, just laborer willing to work and learn. Crazy times.

so let's take this at face value - inflation was up .6 points from February. 70% of that would be .42 leaving .18 to add to the previous rate of 7.9.

So instead of 8.5% only 8.08% was non-Putin factors.

Thanks Joe!

IOW, inflation still accelerated in March on top of historically high numbers.
I’m expecting ELs Twitter response toot sweet.

Not really all that surprising when a third of the party is openly talking about socialism. Sort of like the surprised Pikachu face when Bernie and friends found out real damn quick Cuban Americans in Florida were not interested in their ********.
Donald Trump was dead wrong when he openly advocated for increased immigration from Scandinavia.

This nation doesn’t need any more rich white people, especially from the largest welfare states on Earth.

We need increased immigration from nations that have been suffering under the brutal boot heel of dictatorial regimes.

Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, China, Belarus, Russia, Sudan, etc.

Norway? Gtfoh.

Higher payroll, higher fuel, higher insurance, gee, do you think that might impact the rates you charge your customers? Someone in here a few weeks back was saying that such things had no impact on inflation. I’m thinking it was BB but I could be wrong on that.

We've raised prices more over the past year than we have the previous 10.

To be more precise, the feds are committed to exacerbating it while pretending no problem exists.

That's hardly surprising. If they had even a basic understanding of business or economics, then they wouldn't be liberal.

Honestly though, I'll give Bernie mad props for campaigning in Oklahoma. Even in the reddest of red states, he came in with a couple of rallies.

Probably why he beat the brakes off Hillary and the 2020 nominees during the primary season.
