How in the hell can you be a leader and not have the ability to navigate? It was called PLDC in my day and did you see what the main focus of training has become?

BLC is a 22-day school for the Army's junior leaders and required to rise to the rank of sergeant. It mostly teaches soldiers about the service's policies, including sexual assault prevention, noncommissioned officers' legal authorities and how to submit soldiers for awards.

What a ****ing joke the Army has become.

From the people I saw joining 7 years ago in the navy you are correct. Those going in unassigned was stupid high. They ended up scrapping and painting because they couldn’t qualify the grade they wanted.

oh, yes, it happens on a routine basis. Remember the military of the Carter years? This Kind of War does an excellent treatment of the subject and, while it has been years since I read it, the cause and effects are not really that different, just the form.
