President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

So yeah pork is the exposed meat but the US is still a net exporter. China is the world leader in pork production. Figures they’re nasty animals perfect fit.

Part of that reliance on foreign beef is the fact that foreign beef costs a little bit cheaper (as that video mentions) before processing. After it is brought here and processed, then the costs are similar to or cheaper than US raised beef. Either we should place tariffs on that beef or limit the importation of that beef and pay a fair price here for American beef.

If we had kept inflation, and especially wage inflation, under control, our import problem would have been a lot more manageable. Having the highest wages and supposedly standard of living don't work with globalism. Simple application of supply and demand curves, and the guy with the highest cost of production is the loser.

Biden ‘disinfo’ boss Nina Jankowicz once Belted Out a Raunchy parody Christmas Song

President Biden’s new disinformation czar Nina Jankowicz once belted out a raunchy parody version of a Christmas song — changing the lyrics to ask who she needed to “f–k” to be “famous and powerful,” according to resurfaced YouTube footage.

“I want to be rich, famous, and powerful! Step on all my enemies and never do a thing,” Jankowicz sang in the clip from 2015. “Who do I *** to be famous and powerful? I’ve done everything I can and now the rest is up to you,” her version of “My Simple Christmas Wish (Rich, Famous, and Powerful)” went.

The footage was first unearthed by Breitbart and first uploaded to YouTube by the account LA TI DO.

I don't have an issue with Argentine or Brazilian beef. That isn't the point to take away from what I'm saying. I'm saying that there is no reason for the US to be depending, in general, on most of the beef products that we have. Even 11% in my mind and under the conditions we are in is too much. We need to be focusing on first maintaining our own domestic needs and paying the domestic producers a fair price without undercutting their efforts with imports. You said it yourself, food is a national security concern... so treat it as such. If you are willing to pay the MIC top dollar for weapons, then we need to be able to do the same for ranchers and farmers that put food on our plates. or else, they will have no incentive to continue doing what they do and we are left relying on food exports.

I'd almost bet that commodities markets have a lot to do with skewing things on the food import/export balance. Producers are going to chase the highest return; and when you turn stuff to global commodities and play the world market, there is no sense of national needs. Capitalism is still the best model, but we've gone to predatory capitalism and forgotten the national needs. Corporate farming has changed the complexion from a more local market to a more international market. Export the good stuff and import the lesser quality stuff.

Wage inflation hasn't been an issue in 50 years in this country. What are you talking about?

And why is globalism the seen as the ultimate goal anyways? I thought we were concerned about America first and self-sufficiency?

When your national income per person is above $50K and most of the world is well below $50K, you are going to be a loser in the globalism game. When we produced and consumed at a national level, the yearly union ratchet game was one thing; when we became a player on the global scale and our incomes were pitted against China, Mexico, etc, the past wage inflation game became a big liability.

Average income around the world

Then don't call it wage inflation. That is factually inaccurate. Our wages were higher to start off with, but they didn't just increase as globalization increased.

Report: Biden Labor Secretary Covered for Police Union that Enabled Convicted Child Rapist

U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Marty Walsh protected records that showed the Boston Police union knew about a top official’s history of child sexual abuse during his tenure as Boston mayor.

Patrick Rose, former president of Boston’s police union, pled guilty to 21 child rape and sexual assault counts on Monday. Walsh’s successor as mayor released records that showed the police conducted an internal investigation into Rose after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy.

Nope the wage inflation happened before globalization. If you were around in the 50's - 70's you would have seen it. Read up on the UAW and the automakers. Every year the UAW stuck one, and the other two watched - they couldn't do anything - antitrust laws prevented that. But the antitrust laws didn't prohibit the UAW from funding the strike with income from the other two automakers and support from other unions. When the car company finally gave in, the new deal was forced on the other automakers. That went on year after year, other unions followed to keep wages in line, and the feds would raise the minimum wage. As one of my economics profs put it, that was the feds "ratifying" the wage increase the unions forced. When you do the same job but force wage increases for doing it with no change in production, it damn sure is wage inflation. And we're paying for that practice right now. It fell apart in the 70s with the oil embargo, gas rationing, and foreign (primarily Japanese) automakers with plenty of fuel efficient cars - that's when the water over the dam breached the walls we'd built.

Should we be surprised? This makes her more more desirable for the Biden Administration and Mayorkas. They are full of these types.

Who knew there was a beef live.com site...other than McDad? Lord knows what popups I get now

You guys are just going to whistle past the fact that 80% of Indias 1.3 billion population is Hindu , but they still are the worlds 5th largest beef producer and ahead of Argentina ? How does that even work ?

I guess with 20% being non Hindu, that is still a lot of people. Could you imagine living in nation that is 1/3 size of US and having 4 times as many people? That is unreal.

It appears that we should be able to have enough production to not need imports at all if we were really serious about it. Instead of exporting, we should focus on satisfying our own markets here at home and pay a fair price for that beef in order to make it commercially viable.

National Beef Wire | U.S. Beef Imports vs. Exports By Year

Production has nothing to do with it.

This is where most people get lost. What the U.S imports is select cuts of beef, because we as Americans think there is an endless supply of T-bone, filet mignon, and Ny Strip. Most people don’t realize there are about 8-16 of those cuts in a beef.

Plus another issue is grading out beef in the U.S. Prime and choice is a small percentage of beef production in the US.

Easier to produce beef in Brazil than it is in the US.(outside of Florida)

Yes but you have to think that out of the 20% that’s left over , only a small % that would be beef producers. I’m guessing corporations maybe ?

Just saying that there is 260 million people, 80% of US population, that I would presume eat beef and they have production to meet this demand.
It would seem odd eating a burger and 80% of the population looks at you

India looks to be one nasty place. I wouldn't go there if you provided a free trip.
