President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

If they really care about water usage and deforestation then we need to off about a quarter of the worlds population at some point.

Finite resources with growing demand /= stable reserves

That's the most amazing point. Nobody is touching that one with a ten foot pole. Every human being has an energy and a resource use footprint. Population is the multiplier in every equation, but no conservationist will ever acknowledge or even hint at it. It would kill the concept of man made climate change faster than a nuke.

That’s very subjective when you are on the road for a long haul ( 2-5 weeks ) my motto is …”you can do anything for 12 hours “ but after a week of staying anywhere just basically to get a shower and some sleep , my attitude changes and I start wanting someplace nice for a night or two . Hotels and motel rates change so drastically from place to place that it’s hard to figure them in sometimes . The breaking point in the winter is around $85 the summer it will go to about $100 a night ( we use every discount we can find and then ask if they have more ) . Stay away from anyplace that has water close to it , that triples the price . Probably my favorite all around one to stay in is a Holiday Inn Express . Their beds are always the best .

A road wisdom tidbit that I was looking for

Nope.

Through 2020, the official said these standards had saved consumers $111.1 billion dollars in energy and water bills, 4.8 quads of energy and 4.3 trillion gallons of water.
Those water savings equated to 107.5 billion baths of water with a 40-gallon average bath, the official said, which is equivalent to 63% of the water in Lake Champlain.
I don't need the government to help me save money. I can do that by myself.

Just because there is not currently a water shortage doesn't mean you should just waste as much water as possible *****ing and showering. I think that's common sense and most reasonable people would agree, but its became increasingly apparent there is a shortage of reasonable people on this particular message board.

There also isn't an electricity shortage. Do you set your ac on 65 and leave all your lights on all day for the hell of it too?

I’m a nut job when it comes to recycling and don’t believe in wasting anything but in Tennessee having a low flow shower or toilet doesn’t “save” anything. Except maybe time at the treatment plant. It’s not like the extra gallon on water is now gone or unusable.

You forgot to factor in that water is created as a byproduct of combustion. Going to all electric cars will create a water shortage…..oh I forgot, most electricity is generated from combustion…never mind

Where does "wasted" water end up? Where is "saved" water stored?

Maybe because I'm an engineer, but I'm a lot the same way. I can't tell you how much it haunts me to get rid of the newer electronics that you can't repair. If there's anyplace we need to look at conservation, it's electronics. There's a lot of nasty stuff that goes into the manufacturing - batteries are just a part, and then we dump it probably in landfills when it's obsolete or faulty or just no longer fashionable.

I do have a low flow shower head that I wouldn't be without - first thing I got when I started fixing up this house, in fact. It's a heavy solid metal thing you could use for a hammer - supposedly from a Navy design. The first time I used one was in a hotel, and I took pictures, so I could find my own. You'd might never know it was low flow unless you saw the 2.5 gpm and ANSI standard stamped or engraved on the body. To me it's like having a car wash in my shower - I can sit in the tub and wake up long before the hot water runs out and it's definitely not a pansy rain dripper.

A low flow shower just means you’re going to spend more time in the shower. If you have a wife with long hair that’s especially true. Not even sure if my shower head is low flow but I just took it apart and drilled out the holes in the flow restrictor to get it where we wanted it.

Something else particularly nice is this (Moen CL707). You hook up a shower head and and a handheld shower attachment. You can have either head or both working. The handheld shower head can be mounted lower and gives you a better angle lower on the body or you can detach and use it as you want - makes rinsing quicker.

Well thats certainly a big nothing-burger
So Joe and Kamala can question the vaccine but posters on here cannot? They won’t trust a politician who tells them to take the vaccine but we’re supposed to. Did Facebook and Twitter ban these comments and label them as hazardous?

Those comments were made months before the vaccine was developed. You know its possible to learn about things and form different opinions as information becomes available?

Yeah look at Fauci. That MFer hasn’t stuck to a damn thing. And the only relevant change from when those videos were made and now is who the salesmen are trying to hawk the vaccine. Womp womp 🤡
